Hey guys. I just started getting into boxing training and I noticed that after i hit the heavy bag for a few rounds, my wrists and elbows hurt like hell(not like typical muscle pain), and I actually sprained my right wrist a couple days back. Am I doing something stupid? is there a good way to strengthen my arms to prevent this from happening?

I think I've had something similar, mostly in the wrists after hard training. Rest it or go to the doctor incase it's an underlying condition, something like RSI (or wrist-aids)

Make sure you warm up properly. What side of your elbow hurts?

The Tendons in the lower Elbow are taking to much shock, they control the movement in wrist and arm. Idetify them by wggling your Fingers , then massage them by pressing your Thumb into the last 3" of the muscle below the Elbow 3 or 4 times each should do the trick :good

Don't forget some Mexican Handwraps. Very important for stability.

Get yourself checked out for tendonitis, Medial epicondyle.

You need to rest it, maybe see a doc to see how severe it is, get a diagnosis to see how long it will take to recover..

Proper technique will help prevent this next time.. This isn't the sort of injury you work through, you need to let yourself heal or it will just continue to get worse.

Thanks guys, I made sure to stretch and warm up more before I got into my routine and I've had no persisting issues.

    Well said.

  10. Does that go for knees aswell? I've been getting some badass aches from the left knee lately.
