Apparently this is an article in the sun today. Jones wants the fight. Now i do believe jones must be severly depressed and wants to go out on his shield and die in the ring a la apollo creed. For the sake of boxing this fight cant happen. Its gotta be bollocks surely. I know there is question marks around hayes intentions with his choice of opponents but im sure he doesnt wanna end up in wormwood doing a 5-10 for murder :yep

Dave Coldwell from Hayemaker has already come out and said there 0% chance of it happening.

The article was Jones Jnr saying if he met Haye he would ask to fight him. Meaningless.

Jones a while ago was saying he wants to fight the Klits too.

I hope Roy retires, and I hope he becomes a permanent member of the HBO commentary. Better than Steward IMO.

    To be fair Rob,
i didn't come out and make a point of answering the Sun article as i hadn't even seen it.
I was told that Roy Jones wanted to fight David Haye, and i was actually surprised that he genuinely would think that fight could happen. All i said was that Jones needs to pack up as he's done now and i couldn't see Haye entertaining that fight.
The conversation was more on the fact that if Clinton came out of retirement to fight Jones, i would back him heavily because he took everything Jones fired at him when Roy was at his peak and was very inexperienced back then, and now Jones can't do what he used to, Clinton would probably grind him down in my opinion.

Ok thanks for clearing that up Dave.

Still think Haye vs Jones Jnr is a more competative fight that Audley. At least Jones Jnr has beaten a top 25 Heavyweight at some point in his career.

    Really?
    We'll have to disagree there!
I really don't think Jones has got anything to trouble David with these days, and if the likes of Johnson, Tarver and Danny Green can spark him i can't see him taking the first right hand David lands!

I really don't think Audley has got anything to trouble David with. If the likes of Michael Sprott and Martin Rogan can outbox him for 21 rounds I can't see him having a hope of getting anywhere near a world class fighter like Haye.

At least Jones Jnr would have some credibility. Former Heavyweight champion, has beat a top 10 heavyweight. What has Audley done, **** all.
