haha interesting way to put it...but I really believe he wanted no part of Tarver in the second or third fight..

No one can really draw any conclusions from a face-off. However, if Jones is nervous then that may very well be a good thing. Being nervous, aware that your opponent is a top-calibre fighter, mnay well fire Jones up to try his hardest, his damnest to win!

Let's not dismiss the fact that Calzaghe may be a bit nervous aswell. Its all on the line for Joe. If he were to lose at such a late stage of his career, when its very nearly over, I do not think Joe would get over it!

You know, in hindsight, I actually agree. I don't think it was out of fear, though, rather the lack of desire to just fight, period.

I get nervous before a big game, but it's never out of fear of my opponent, but the fear of losing. That usually makes people go even harder!

If prefight staredowns were an indicator of results in the ring Mayorga would be undisputed P4P champion of the world.

I agree with you, his whole tone thus far has been very defeatist

Roy wasnt exactly full of confidence at the Ruiz weigh in, but was behind the scenes. Maybe he just knows this is his last big chance to win a big fight and knows whats at stake.
