Jorge Linares

I wouldn't stick my neck out and say he will definetly be a future P4P topper, but I do think he has great potential.

Also, don't discount the possibility that Linares made Larios into a shot fighter. Larios, never very accurate with his punches or possesed of tremendous relexes, still let the leather fly as he always does. Linares should be given some credit for coming through a couple of rough patches, then beating the resistance out of Larios, and taking him out by KO; Pac couldn't do it.

Linares has a bright future. His destruction of Larios was impressive. His last opponent was tough but he ended the fight with a great shot. I was looking forward to see him fight Billy Dib but oh well...

 

How did Mijares look when he was 21? He was 17-3-1 when he was Linares' age, so I suspect he wasn't quite the boxer he is now. Give the kid some time. You always seem to forget about age relative to competition, which is key when evaluating prospects in any sport.

Dib pulled out a couple weeks ago to fight a regional level fighter in Australia. His management realized he's not ready for prime time yet, which was a good move, since Dib has a lot of natural talent but absolutely no clue how to use it.

 

Interesting fight, one I would like to see. I feel "The Ghost" is pretty underrated.

 

That's because Amsterdam is an idiot. And saying he isn't particualy quick when Robert Guerrero is much slower. Linares has fast hands, good reflexes, and pretty good movement. He's no Gamboa in terms of speed, but he is quick.

 

Jorge Linares is 23 ! this year, he is still very young he is the full package. He also has a younger brother Carlos Linares who is a decent Pro. The undefeated WBC Champion will be a future Pound for Pound Champion mark my words.

 

I also recognized the talent of Jorge Linares, I have all of his fights before his American debut.
