He would have done plenty of work on attacks like that since Askren doesn't even try to set up the takedown like in his last fight when he basically went for the TD with his 1st movements which makes it fairly easy and predictable for most of the guys he will fight in the UFC
Masvidal gave him a big time wake up call. Stop fighting so lazy and arrogant. Askren isn't even going for power, or speed shots. He walks up, lazily ducking down to grab a leg, probably out of habit from fighting all that weak opposition before he got to UFC. Guys with a fraction of Askren's wrestling ability, have shown better shot attempts in the Octagon.
Whoever they matchup masvidal with is getting worked right now. He can fill in if Edwards or rda back out or fight the winner. Both easy fights.
Yeah he has definitely stepped up his game and I hope we see him beat Usman or whoever the champ is,I think after getting robbed a couple of times he realised he needed to get more aggressive and knock these mother ****ers out
I don’t know when Marty will be ready. If rda/Edwards drops out, they will put Jorge in. He said he’s ready to go that that was no fight. I’d love to see Jorge vs rda. I think it’s a perfect style matchup to showcase his striking. Would be perfect in Brazil. Jorge stops him.
Apologies for hijacking, but what did Askren say about Masvidal? Ive just saw the post fight interview now.
Literally 5 minutes before the fight Sky Bet had a price boost on Masvidal KO/TKO in the first round so stuck a £5 on it, turned out to be a nice little investment, gutted for Askren though, Masvidal is an assassin.
