Jose Aldo said in the last Ultimate insider at the end that he would like to take Anderson Silvas place as the #1 P4P king and he would be very happy if he did. Everyone knows who Jose Aldo is and that he is on everyones P4P list but will he be the new Anderson Silva? taking that place as #1 and never losing and to put on a damn entertaining fight while doing so? what are youre thoughts on this?
Hominick will beat him if the fight doesn't go to the ground. After that, he'll have to contend with elite wrestlers who has excellent stand up (Edgar and Maynard) which is pretty much the most dominant style in MMA. He should stay at 145 to have a shot at p4p 1 because I see a beast like Maynard gobbling him like he doesnt exist. Maynard is not near to my favorite fighter but his wrestling with KO power in both hands is pretty much hard to beat.
Aldo's an interesting one as he's became a champion at a young enough age that he could be the first fighter to follow the boxing model of moving up several weight classes as they get older and their body develops. I mean he's only 24 now so its not out of the realms of possibility that by the time he's in his mid-thirties he'd be campaigning at welterweight. Whether he can be P4P #1 is unproven in my mind. The featherweight and bantamweights were the weakest in Zuffa because without the UFC machine behind them there was more top talent outside his division. Plus bigger featherweights stayed at 155Ibs because the money was better. It'll be very interesting to see how Aldo handles the likes of Griffin or Florian if they earn a title shot. And if Edgar ever moves down that would be a real test for him. I think he's great but as he's division's unproven he's slightly more unproven than his record suggests.
If he can handle a few of the bigger names that are now moving down (as mentioned above, Florian and Griffin), he has all the time in the world to move up and make some waves at 155. If he's successful there he certainly has a case for being at the top of some p4p lists. Unfortunately for him, both the talent and the size differences between the 145ers and the 155ers is extreme.
So what, we're just going to pretend 2010 didn't happen and Aoki hasn't been brutally exposed as another J-MMA one dimensional hype job?

I have him in the top 5 so it isn't too out of the question. My top 5 P4P list as of right now Aoki Fedor Diaz Aldo Badr Hari (only one fight in MMA but he's the real deal)
look at aoki's resume their buddy. And why does it only work one way? If you lose in the states, but were successful in Japan your trash. But if you lose in Japan but are successful in the states you are legit. example: couture, A silva, rampage ect. different rules....
