My point was that I didn't see many threads at all and as he is fighting in a few days time that rankled with me a bit. I know that outside of Boxing circles he is pretty much unknown in the UK. People who have heard of Khan, AJ, Fury, Eubank Jr would probably assume you were talking about Katie if you mentioned the name Taylor in reference to boxing.
Taylor is beloved by the hardcore fans on this forum as he is exactly what we want to see more of in boxing. He is risking his 0 in every fight, he's cleaning out a division, he's going to backyards to make the fights happen. He's ambitious and will push it until he finds his limit. Being the real deal in this era of email champions will eventually capture the love of the general public. Look at Usyk. He was beloved on this forum for all the same things. All it took was him outclassing a hyped guy and his public profile is way up there where it should be. I expect the same thing to happen with Taylor if he can move up and look impressive against the frankly overhyped batch of 147ers.
Well he is having a domestic level fight when there are guys for him to fight who are better. He has some talent.
He unified the division which is great but 140 has been weak for years. He needs to rematch prograis as well that fight was razor thin. I have no idea why there is not more demand for this rematch? Fights that weren't nearly as close people were calling for rematches but for whatever reason this one goes under the radar.
Have you once heard Regis call for the rematch? Dig the Rougarou, but he hasn't exactly been vocal about getting a rematch
Nah. Josh is well respected on here it's hard to argue with what he's achieved in so few fights. I don't think I've seen any negative threads on him at all which is rare tbh.
He will lose at 147 but he has unfinished business with Prograis at 140 and lucrative fights with Teofimo Lopez, Haney and or Tank.
I don't hold that against him. His name is actually Anglo-Scottish. His last 7 opponents have a combined record of 162-1 including Catterall who he fights Saturday! Josh Taylor is underrated in my opinion.
I guess u need to ask Prograis how much does he fancy a Taylor fight again!!! Yeah it was a close one....but the silence coming from Prograis on a rematch is deafening!! Taylor has bigger balls and wouldnt run away from any fight
