UNDERRATED. He should be mentioned at the top. I give him a good shot at beating just about any of the top weltwerweights in the world...yep.:smoke

The Joshua Clottey fanbase is so absurd it is not even amusing. He lacks any at all true punching power, he has hand problems, serious stamina problems, defensive holes, fights in spurts, is weak to the body, weak to pressure and weak to fighters with good movement.

I expect him to lose to just about anyone halfway decent from here on out. He almost lost to C level Gutierez.

The only reason he is rated is because idiot boxing fans assume that Margarito was a true top class fighter.

That's a fairly accurate assesment of Clottey, but I still consider myself a fan. The Hitter always comes to fight and is pretty active for a top tier guy.

I have nothing against Clottey. I'm not a fan, but I don't dislike him. He's a good world class welterweight (probably around 7th). He is physically strong, tough, and quick. He's not real powerful because of his hand problems, covers up, and fights in spurts. He can give problems to many fighters at 147. However, I would favor Mayweather, Mosley, Cotto, De La Hoya, Williams, Margarito, and Cintron over him.

hmmm....I think Clottey can throw some amazing combinations and if I say amazing I mean not many fighters I've seen can do it like he does. imo... And I would favor most of those fighters over Clottey as well but I still give Clottey a damn good chance at any of em...If he is motivated I believe he can do some pretty good damage against any of those top guys...

Somewhat agree but thats pretty harsh, I can see you have argued this point to death with people but thats a bit of a negative slant on Clottey.

Clottey could pick up a trinket....but probably in a different era. Welterweight is to strong now and though I dont agree he will "lose to just about anyone halfway decent", he wont trouble any of the top10 fighters at welter.

joshua clotty is a very skilled, very tough fighter. a real world class fighter.

he would give every champion a run for his money . and he might be able to beat a guy like cintron.

i would rank him in the top ten......around 7,8 or 9.

his triple and double up of his left hook. Very quick and powerful, always seems to catch someone with one out of the three punches. Clottey can bang and I can see him taking out Cotto btw.

Yes, he has fast hands, this I have never denied. But powerful he is not and fighting in spurts with only quick hands and limited stamina without real punching power is not going to work out well against top level fighters.

Even a guy like David Estrada would beat Clottey pretty clearly, that's the level in which Clottey is truly residing at.
