Why do people on here want him to lose out of curiosity, he's the type of fighter that will do wonders for the sport if he's successful. If Joshua becomes a world heavyweight champ, kids will start boxing because of him, he has star potential and seems like an ok guy. Boxing fans are ****ing stupid, almost hipster like, just because a guy is getting hyped, they want him to fail.

The man is a fraud. Bags of talent, but he just puts on an act.

Even if his persona is fake, so what?

You could call GGG and Pacquaio's nice guy images fake, GGG use to start street fights and we all know some of the **** Pac has got up to.

I like him, I'm just not a fan of the hype that's currently surrounding him, it feels... premature.

This isn't anything unusual for the British media though.

The hype is not a bad thing, it's great publicity for the sport, whether he lives up to the hype is up to him.

Speaking for myself, I'd like to see him fight someone who might beat him.

    Hype alone gets boring quickly.
Mismatch after mismatch followed by praise and hype IS bad.

True boxing fans want to see reasonably competitive fights, not lots of horrible mismatches where overmatched, out of shape opponents are beaten senseless by well-conditioned young prospects. That's the worse side of the sport.

    People say :
"But it's too soon to put him in with someone who might beat him" ... BULLSH!T

Meh, I don't like it. A little bit of hype is fine but in this case it feels completely over the top and undeserved, I don't understand how that fight was a co-feature over some of the previous bouts.

Out of curiosity which fighters would you like to see him in with at this stage?

He is being bought along at the correct pace, it's funny, the same people who call Joshua a hype job were crowing Price the next heavyweight champ when his best win was John McDermot.

Speaking of Price, this is exactly what Joshua's hype reminds me of. I know Joshua will most likely go on to be a better fighter than Price but yeah..

I'm a fan of his and want him to succeed... But as has already been said I'm not a fan of the hype.

I understand that as a young HW that's banging people out, he's going to appeal to the casuals but after every AJ fight I see and hear people who have no clue what there talking about chatting absolute *******s.

After beating a Kingpin last night, in good fashion, I seen people saying how he would destroy anyone in the HW division, Wlad wouldn't be any sort of match etc ... For **** sake he just beat a man who had lost 5 out of his last 6, hadn't fought in 13 months and had previously been dropped by Chisora who wasn't a big banger.

    People are getting carried away.
