Joshua vs Wilder

    Joshua vs Wilder

    I think that it would still be a massive fight.
    Both have recently suffered a recent loss.
    Wilder may need a tune up fight first and may have to travel to the UK but I think it would be a massive event.
    Both have decent powers of recovery and big punchers

    I would favour Joshua but if Wilder comes back with a good win

    Who would you pick?

    I think Wilder stops him in a multi knckdown war, but Joshua wins a rematch.

    I thought 50/50 entering last night. Now, I'd say 75/25 Joshua. I don't think Wilder will ever be the same, but of course Joshua can't fight him the way Fury did and has his own limitations.

    I can't see it happening unless Wilder gets lucky in the trilogy fight.

    If it does I have Joshua winning. He's a far better boxer than Wilder and he has the physical attributes to negate Wilder's offence. Wilder wouldn't have the advantage of the LA scorecard system either.

    Still a good fight, truth be told. But it seems even further off now.

    It may be a 50/50 fight and come down to who can land first. Though AJ is a bit better than Wilder in some technical aspects.

    Joshua would not take the fight to Wilder and press him like Fury did, he'd take pot shots, run and spoil in his new Wlad style. It worked vs the fat man but Wilder is more dangerous. It would be a dull fight anyway.

    Joshua stops him quicker than Fury does. Not because Joshua is better but because he hits harder and once he lands it would quickly be over.

    Joshua style is all wrong for Wilder. Only chance Wilder had before is if Joshua fought too defensively and allowed Wilder to get off first and push him back. But last night exposed the big flaw in Wilder's game, that he's ineffective when pushed back, Joshua will know this and look to seek and destroy.

    Joshua's normal aggressive style is similar to how Fury fought in the rematch. Stiff jabs, pressing forward, looking to counters and bombs.

    Look at how Fury controlled range, he extends his left hand like a pole when Wilder attacks. Wilder isn't the type to slip under a lead left or around a lead left, he looks to cut the distance with big strides forward to land the right, cutting the distance down quickly before you can react in time to avoid it. But if you keep the left hand out, it blocks his path to you, preventing Wilder from getting in range.

    Then look at how Joshua fights when a fighter comes to him. He too instinctively extends the left hand like a pole to prevent the opponent just jumping on him. Wilder will step in on Joshua to try and land a big right but will find a glove in his face, chest or shoulder, keeping him out of range to land with full power.

    We all know Wilder has no inside game and Joshua is adept in close. Once he steps inside the jab of Wilder, Wilder won't have an answer for Joshua's strength and inside work and get rag dolled.

    So Joshua will push Wilder back, taking away his ability to throw the right as often as he likes, when he does get it off, Joshua will extend the left to ensure he can't step in fully with it and connect with full power and of course once Wilder misses one of those big swings we'll see Joshua who is an adept counter puncher punish Wilder for is recklessness, then get inside and dominate.

    Joshua is damaged goods too in my opinion. If Deontay comes in at his usual starved weight condition, he'll KO that scared bodybuilder mark my words!

    No more damaged goods than Wilder I think it's a good fight if ever comes off.
