Don't understand how someone can criticise Ricky's chin. Aside from the flash knock down in the first round where he clearly wasn't hurt against martinez, he's shown nothing but a granite chin. He got dropped from a head shot by carl Johannson but again he was sort of leaning back and kind of off balance. He took much bigger shots of carl that night to the head without going down. The Martinez fight showed that he could take punches from the hardest puncher at his weight, he took some massive hooks and at times was badly shaken but he never looked overly shaky.

Have to disagree with Tommy V on this one.

There's nothing wrong with defences of the WBO title against top 15 fighters. (Hamed, Robinson, Harrison, Calzaghe, Ottke, Collins all got away with this type of thing to some extent) Put yourself in Burns position. He's won a world title and can gain some exposure and money for defending it. If he can make £75K-£100K for a title defence in a gimmee fight, then great. If a big fight comes up which is 50-50 or not in favour of Burns then the money has to be higher. If a P4P fighter comes along and offers the team £1m-£1.5 million, I guess they would seriously consider it. It's all about risk and reward. This is why I think one or two defences down the line we may see Burns versus Fana for the WBO/IBF and Ring titles, where the money will be decent £300K+ ? with belts on the line.

I understand Frank likes to look after his fighters and make them a good living with the minimum risk, but it'd be nice to see fighters fight the best. If Burns was to take a fight with Lopez, I don't think we'd see him getting $1m...

I'm not sure Lopez gets that much right now.

TBH I can't see why it would interest Juanma all that much atm. Burns would have to make 3 or 4 defences against top contenders before he is anywhere near ready...and even then Juanma would box rings around Burns. Just not in the same league imo.

The money that has been quoted would dwarf anything Juanma has earned thus far !!!!

I think Ricky will prob face a mandatory about April time then chase the Fana fight in late summer.
