Dude its simple really,Jackson v McCellan 1 ,Jackson was the WBC champ.
After loosing two fights to McCellan,Jackson then went on to win another world title.How can anyone say he was past it?
Was he at his best? I dont know,but what I do know is,he was NOT over the hill,past it or whichever you wanna call it.

There are actually very few that had so much KO power.

 

I am not sure who punched like him to be honest, I am not sure how guys had the guts to face him. Herol Graham or Buster Drayton or Terry Norris. They were not just dazed, they were stopped with one punch. It was amazing.

 

Yeah, the fight where Jackson was cut, rocked and dominated for 1 and a half rounds until he managed to release 1 monster right hand against a boxer who all of his losses came by KO.

Jackson then lost that belt in his first defense against Quincy Taylor, who then lost it on his first defense before taking long absences from the ring.

Jackson was over the hill in the second fight, partly because the first fight took so much out of him. But hey, Julian ****ed G-man's brain up then Benn finished it. Each guy took a lot out the other. Shame really, G man was a class fighter. His bodyshot KO of Bell was sexy.

 

It's a small marvel he didn't kill anyone with how hard he hit. I don't know how many fighters could make fans fear for the guys they knocked out, but Jackson could.

I really don't know much about what he is doing now, but. I saw him at the Hall of Fame in Los Angeles many years ago. No one recognized him since he just showed up. I went up to him and said Julian Jackson and he was happy someone recognized him, which was amazing no one did since to me he is legendary. Once I asked for a picture and autograph other people asked me who is that, and I told them. Then about 15 minutes later his wife walks over to me and hands me a picture with Julian on in the front and it is signed Julian the Hawk Jackson. I look over to where Julian was standing and he waves at me. He had his wife walk over and give me the signed card. I was appreciative, and he was appreciative I came over to him at first. I think he is a great guy as well as probably the best one punch knockout puncher in boxing history.

Jackson wasn't at his best against Cardamone, obviously. Although he beat some decent fighters, a lot of his MW reign actually was against overmatched opponents. He had vision problems by the time he was at 160, his prime was before his detached retina.

 

Julian Jackson is a living legend truly the hardest puncher I've ever seen. When he would land flush it was scary.

 

Simply the hardest puncher pound for pound EVER imo! I was just telling a buddy of mine about him who is a lot younger and didn't live through the 90's era of boxing. Jackson had the power to not just take out, but to render Hall of Famers UNCONSCIOUS with one single punch! That is legendary power my friends.

 

Jackson would be a HUGE PPV star if he was in his prime right now. He dished out monsterous knockouts. Pound for pound, the hardest puncher I have ever seen.
