I've just seen on twitter that Michael Katsidis has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in Oz.Due to fight Tommy Coyle late October, not sure what the standing is Visa wise, but surely if there's evidence against him then he'll not be granted a Visa with a pending court case / or possible conviction?Potentially leaves Coyle without an opponent for his 'acid test'.Thoughts?
I'd be suprised if true, I've had quite a few conversations with Michael and he seemed like a nice genuine bloke.
Katisdis must have earned a few quid in his time.. he's headlined big shows e.g. Marquez? What would he need to do that for?
Nah' wasn't from his twitter - admittedly a load of tripe comes of twitter, however a lot of truth comes out on there too! Stranger things have happened that a boxer being lifted for burglary - Frank Malonie being Kellie for example!
Brendon Smith his long time trainer has resigned and said he will not work with Katsidis again. Not looking good for Tommy Coyle, Katsidis has to be in court on Sept 30th and is now without a trainer.
I wonder who will step in to fill the gap. I don't really see the need for the Katsidis fight anyway, the one thing we know about Coyle is that he's massive heart. We know how he acts when he's in a war (Brazuela) and we know how he can be put away if caught (Matthews) I'd rather see him in there with a wise old dog who can move him around the ring - pressure him but importantly test his boxing rather than his heart.
