there's no way anyone can say kelly pavlik cant be successful if he returns to form and makes a comeback. that being said, he's unproven at smw and that's most likely where he would be campaigning. I do think he would potentially be able to beat robert stieglitz but who knows if he's still going to be a world ruler by the time pavlik's ready to get in the ring for a championship. guys like dirrell and ward can outbox him, and froch, kessler and bute can overpower him (as well as outbox him in bute's case). either way however, it would be exciting while it lasted because pavlik can slug it out and has a warrior's mentality.

he needs to lay off the booze before any of this comes into play though.

Don't see Kelly being effective at 160(against top opposition). Those days are long gone.

The only thing Kelly is coming back for is this.

Real question is how hard the alcohol has effected his brain. If he has worsened connections in his cerebellum or visual systems he is gone for the count. Alcohol kills nerves and connections in the brain so hopefully it hasn't damaged him too hard core.

Alcoholics tend to have lower reflex time and more unstable and incomplete movements because of the effects it has had on the brain.

Would you kindly point us to the medical research that backs up this assertion?
