No longer fighting on PAC undercard. Official reason is a rib injury but actually pavlik is having weight issues

Wouldn't be shocked if he don't last much longer in boxing.

Yep, Kelly is having some serious problems with drink apparently. Plus Pavlik is no longer an orange chip and Bob Arum is done gambling with house money.

Pavlik's one of a few fighters that is one loss away from never being seen again. A shame coz his victory over Taylor was one of those memorable middleweight nights that you don't see too often these days.

Where's the source for the weight problems, or is it a guess?

It's legit, he was having well known problems making weight especially before the Martinez fight. It all stems from his bad living and alcohol problems.

It would be such a shame if this guy's career is soon to be over, but I fear it may be.:?

The way I see it he may as well retire. He's good but he's very beatable.

I don't see him beating any top super middle or light heavyweight and he can't make 160 safely any more.

    Agreed.

He looked like a corpse against Martinez and re-hydrated something silly well above 170, and he's not got the tools to impose his style on the bigger guys.

I think he's mentally a bit ****ed too since Hopkins wrecked him.....

    i think he's found it.

he is a tall lanky guy but isn't cut or have a lot of muscle mass to his name. should try to ride it out at 168 to see how the picture changes. i just don't see many fighter having a problem to deal with his style. an open come foreword brawler would get outboxed by most. i think he could out work rate froch or try to salvage something by fighting lacy or somebody like that. might nab a title from sartison (good allrounder but was beaten by kessler badly), magee (a chinny but awkward southpaw), return with miranda.
i dont know fight somebody who is a name but not a problem....and not part of the super 6.

god boxing is a strange sport, no rhyme or reason guys lose or gain the knack to be a world class operator.

Jesus he's some daft ******* to keep trying to make 160, give it up man. If he was focused and in good shape, I'd fancy him to be able to operate at World level at either SMW or LHW. LHW has loads of mediocre champs and old guys hanging around, and I think Pavlik would still have some decent advantages at 168.

Weight problems still? And this fight isn't even at 160. He should just retire. Injury prone, taken a couple of bad beatings, not gonna make 160 and not gonna beat any of Ward, Froch, Kessler, Dirrell, Abraham, Pascal, Dawson or Hopkins anytime in the future.
