All I know about him is that he fought Ali twice. One he won by breaking Ali's Jaw, and the other he lost by split decision. Can you guys tell me anything else about him? I just bought a glove autographed by him so Im curious. Im not crazy familiar with any boxers before 1990.

    Thanks.

In fact Norton fought Ali three times. Winning the first not long after Ali's historic fight with Frazier. Derailing Ali's comback. Six monthe later Ali won a very close split decision. Norton recieved a title shot in 1974 against hulking Heavyweight Champion George Foreman and was Kayoed in the second round. In thier third fight Ali again won a razor thin 15 round decision to keep his Heavyweight Crown. Later Norton beat Jimmy Young in a 15 round WBC title Eliminator. Spinks was stripped of the title for not fighting Norton and giving Ali a rematch. The WBC awarded the Championship to Norton, based on his victory over Young.
Nortons first defense was against #1 contender Larry Holmes, The two fought tooth and nail in one of the best Heavyweight fights in years. Holmes won a very close decision. Norton fought sporatically after than and finally called it quits after getting blown out by Gerry Cooney in the first round.
