I've been watching a few of his fights and he is the hardest puncher at 147..no doubt, but what about physical strength-wise? nothing makes me believe he's also the strongest at 147..

I believe margarito, cotto and clottey are stronger

    thoughts?

Maybe they could benchpress 800 pounds, but boxing isn't about strength.

Physically, I think Margarito, Cotto, and Clottey are stronger as well. Cintron is strong, but not one of the strongest guys I've seen.

yeah for sure. cintron looks really drained in his fights i know he couldn't outman marg, cotto, or clottey.

i actually think clottey would have a real good chance at beating cintron badly. think about the punches thrown, inside fighting, and pure clean, short, accurate punches clottey would deliver. completely overwhelm cintron.

i would agree that htere are stronger guys (margarito in particular), but cintron is not drained. his walking weight is 155, so he only drops 8lbs to get to the 147 limit.

I can tell you with certainty that at one time Kermit was without doubt the strongest wellterweight out there. WHen he fought Teddy Reid his weight training was at its peak. At that time hew was walking around at 164. Throughout training camp he was 160# so all the numbers I give are at a weight of 160. He benched 245 for 5 reps. Squatted 325 for 5 reps. Deadlift 405 for 5 reps. Seated dumbbell military press 85lb dumbbels for 5 reps. Hammerstrength pulldowns 310 for 5 reps. Unlike Mosely that is complete drug free.
As for making weight Kermit always did so with ease. Coming down from 160 to 147 the last 7 days before the fight, and by fight time he was back up to about 162. I do know that he no longer weight trains. He does some kind of rubber band resistance training with his wife!

I actually think Clottey is physically the strongest. Cotto is a bull as well and yeah margarito. Baldomir is very strong aswell although he couldn't crack an egg with his punches.
