Kessler's promoter screwed up big time when they shut down the Miranda fight. Miranda was hot at the time, and Kessler would have beat his ass 6 ways to Sunday. That win would have made Kessler marketable in the USA. A win over an old Winky who has been sitting on his ass getting fat for nearly two years will not do much for Mikkel.

I'm really disappointed in Winky right now. I was bigging him up quite a bit for awhile because I bought into his story about making a serious come back at 160. However, when a 37 year old guy has to pull out of a fight with a tomato can because he got injured in training .... well .... let's just say I formed a new opinion based on additional information.

Again, all you have is a conversation between Palle, Kessler's promoter, and HBO.

Your claim was that Dawson was ready and willing in the next few months to fight Kessler at 168lbs. You have no evidence for that whatsoever.

BTW, if you claim that Kessler is 'scared' of Dawson based on the above, presumably Dawson is scared of Cloud, Taylor is scared of Froch, etc, etc.

In both of those cases their promoters have made almost identical statements to the one above. Only differences are that Dawson isn't even in Kessler's division, whereas Cloud is Dawson's mandatory and Taylor is Froch's mandatory.

Sure you can find faults with Bika, Miranda, and Green, but none of them are as glaring as the fact that Winky only has two legitimate wins at 160 or above, and one of them was against a blown up welterweight, and the other against Sam Soliman, and he hasn't fought in over a year and a half.

Besides, nobody looks good against Winky, even if they win. If Palle is looking for a showcase fight against a name opponent, they're overestimating Kess' ability to showcase against the turtle.

If Kessler had taken that fight and subsequently smashed Miranda, I have little doubt he'd be fighting Hopkins soon for a huge payday.

Instead he fought two unknown Euros, giving Hopkins plenty of reason to be all, "Mikkel who?"

I doubt Hopkins considers Edison Miranda a superior win to Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson. And, as Hopkins recently pooh-poohed the notion of fighting Chad Dawson on the basis that Dawson had not done anything to warrant it, that would suggest on the surface that your contention is complete bollocks.

oh my you just dont know what you are talking about.

Kessler should not fight wright. he should fight froch who i think is willing. the other title holder in the division, bute, is not willing to fight kessler. kessler would love to fight him.

kessler should fight froch. they could unify. that is a good fight a meaningful fight

Taylor is their goal of course, but until he fights Froch (and wins) this is a good build up fight, given that they will then have a common opponent. But please don't start jinxing Kessler by asking if he will be the first to KO Wright - thats exactly what they asked when Pavlik went up against Hopkins!
