I am not saying at all that he was out drinking, I am simply saying that he was not right going into the fight, he knew that, yet he went through with it and let a lot of people down and has lost some fans as a result.

He was unprofessional, so it is inevitable that this is the result. If he comes back and shows that he has learned from this then things will turn around for him again, but at the moment he needs to accept that he is not where he was in terms of career and it was his own fault. He obviously did not decide to argue with his other half, but he did decide to go into a fight when that was affecting him badly.

Katsidis is pretty one-dimensional for me, he is very tough, has a punch and a great mental attitude, and he is very good - I never said that he was not - but he is limited and is clearly not elite level. To hear Mitchell talk historically you would expect him to have too much for Katsidis. Actually Katsidis is a great pro who trains right and makes sure he is up for every fight and he took Mitchell apart. I am a big Katsidis fan, but he is limited.

god you would think mitchell had killed nelson mandela or something , the negativity on here amazes me
he let himself down on the night he fought kats before then his record stood up to the highest scruitny at domestic/european level , it seems people have totally dismissed his performance against prescott, i remenber prescott beat another british fighter who then got well and truly written off and slagged off on here however the last time i checked he seemed to be doin ok.
basically what im sayin is dont dismiss mitchell just yet

If Murray puts in a good performance on Saturday, Mitchell could very well find himself out of the picture in a couple of weeks time. He should of taken the offer when it was offered

He wouldn't take the Murray fight, you can argue it was for X reason, Y person did this, it's all reasons and excuses. The fact is he is responsible for not fighting Murray this weekend. Like I said, it's very possible that was his one and only chance at making some money before calling it a day.

    no he isnt Warren is.

its clearly not becuase he is a fighter that sells tickets. warren might be annoyed with him but he isnt stupid enough to let a ticket seller rot. why do you think he wanted to make Murray vs Mitchel....in LONDON

Warren offered him the Murray fight for this weekend, Mitchell rejected it.

"Let a ticket seller rot".. I am not insinuating that Warren is doing so. Mitchell's doing a perfectly good job of it himself. He had the biggest chance of his career and couldn't motivate himself for it, he's not going anywhere

Mitchell wanted the Murray fight which is why he agreed the second purse bid. Murray's team rejected it and chose this Spanish fella, it's as simple as that. If Mitchell would be such a push over why didn't Joey G accept it?

All this talk about the European title is nonsense. 1st of all, it means pretty much nothing nowadays anyway and 2nd, the fight wouldn't be for the title as you cannot fight for it coming off a loss.

Mitchell shipped 17,000 tickets at west ham with sky promoting the **** out of it, how many times has Murray sold out the MEN? **** how many times has he sold out a bingo hall? Why are sky not going out hyping Murray's next fight? Because it's a meaningless pushover perhaps?

How many times has Murray boxed to instructions like Mitchell did against Prescott? How many opponents has Murray faced in the same 'limited' league as Katsidis? The unbeaten thing is also stupid. Kell Brook is unbeaten. What does it prove?

For me, Mitchell has fought the better opposition unquestionably, has more speed, probably more power, and has a very good chin (we can't say the same for Murray as it's never been tested)
