    Hi guys,

Interested to hear what you think Amir's chances are in June against Kotelnik. Never personally seen Kotelnik fight......

    SHOULD win?

why? hes the underdog in the fight, kotelnik is no paper champ, is a good technical boxer with a gd chin and tough as they come

amir does of course have a chance, hes a good fighter. needs to fight kotelnik the right way and not try to mano y mano him cos he will lose.

and if he does lose (as long as its not 1-5 KO) he should be respected and not run down on places like this board, get back on the horse and fight again

I disagree if Khan loses to Kotelnik via KO then maybe he should think about giving up the sport ,on points and if it was a spilt then maybe Khan can come back. Kotelnik is a good decent boxer, but Khan's hand speed and fast footwork should be to much for Kotelnik in my view who looks a bit slow moving around the ring.

I am going for a UD/ or even a late TKO win for Khan.

It's all about Khan's chin...he can give but remains to be seen if he can take.

Freddie Roach has polished him up and Amir has benefited enormously from it,and this is a step up against a decent fighter, though with only 13 KO in 31 fights it's easy to see why Warren picked this one.

  6. It's a very big test for Khan. One I'm not convinced he can pass.

Kotelnik is tough and very experienced. He's only lost two close decisions in big fights and is not a man who's going to fall down easily. He's techinically very sound and can go a full 12 rounds at a pace. I expect him to ask a lot of very difficult questions of Amir Khan.

If I was a betting man I'd go for Kotelnik by decision or late stoppage.

I hope Khan wins over some people's respect if he beats Kotelnik who is a good tough boxer.

  8. I agree totally.

I hope he does win. Saying that though even if he wins a tough fight and wins in style he'll still get abuse from some quarters. Beating Kotelnik will be a major achievement. Good luck to him.

Going by his last fight Kotelnik has a very good defence, taking a lot of shots on the arms and never been stopped. Khan will have no option but to stay in range if he wants to get through with any scoring punches. Kotelnik has relied on his technical ability and counterpunching to get through fights but we have seen that given the opportunity he can put more venom into his punches and stop guys like gavin rees who does not have a bad chin himself.

I dont see how Khan can employ the in out style and pot shotting from range tactic he adopted recently to beat kotelnik. As usual we just have to wait and see how his chin holds up when he takes a few shots in order to land his own.

Kotelnik is a good solid fighter who will ask a lot of questions of Khan's boxing ability and chin but.....

His last fight turned into a bit of a war towards the end and may have taken a lot out of him. Frank Warren may have pulled off a great piece of matchmaking.

That why this is such a good fight, this fight takes away the reach and size advantage what Khan usually has, and will force Khan to think about each punch and has to balance his offence, and defence and punch timing right or risk exposing his weak chin. But he will get hit let see how he handles everything?. Roach will be working hard on gameplans, and getting him the right sparring partners to prepare for Kotlenik's style.

That would depend on the manner of the win. Considering all the parties involved the most likely scenario of a Khan win is a shoshine combo to Kotelniks gloves and the ref stopping the fight, leaving Kotelnik and everybody else bar Warren with a 'what the ****?' look on their face.

Its a good Euro level test for Khan dressed magnificently as a world title fight.

With Roach in his corner and sorting out the gameplan khan will win by UD,As long as he can avoid getting hit on that chin of his.
