How much of an impact do you think a trainner has on a fighter? Example: Roach trining Khan , Floyd Sr training Hatton.
Khan has skills, he is quick and can throw plenty of good combos. His defence isnt great and thet can only be improved so much, when he moves up a level he'll get hit. He is in a a very strong division with no weak link to get at a title. If he moves up, the his biggest weakness will suddenly become more obvious. I dont see Khan winning a legit world title...:bart
Roach is only working with Khan because he has a similar body-type to DLH and therefore makes a good sparring partner. You can't train a fighter to grow a new chin.
I think a lightweight Gavin Rees would be more effective with todays division than Khan. Not because he is more talented, because I dont think he is, but he has something Amir, toughness.
Khan could train with Eddie Futch and it would not make a bit of difference. His Chin is so bad that no amount of advice is going to help him. He will just continue to get brutally KOed over and over because of his Glass Jaw. He could not even take the punches of guys with only 5 KO's but now a new trainer is going to transform him into something? :rofl
The fact's are that khan has a real glass jaw. He was knocked down by craig watson as an amatuer and light punchers like willie limond in the pro's, he just cant take it! With this major flaw he needs to be rigorously honest and alter his style - and his attitude if he is going to hit the big time. That mean's a tight defense, a hellacious work effic and a mindset of getting up after every knockdown; that WILL happen. There has been succesfull guy's with precarious punch resistance, but the reason they still made it - is they took it into account when fighting, like floyd patterson did.
These news about Khan training w/ Pac and Roach are all BS. Khan went to a top Hollywood plastic surgeon to have a jaw job. He'll have his glass jaw replaced with titanium jaw and have specialised shock absorbers on the molars.
