After Athens there was plenty talk of Khan remaining amateur until after the Beijing Olympics. He is now established himself as the best lightweight in Britain with only Romanov a realistic challenger in Europe. Rated at number 8 in the world by Ring. All hail Frank Warren for doing a fantastic job. :happy

    :rofl

The only top 10 DOMESTIC lightweight he has beaten is Graham Earl.

    Ducked Thaxton :deal
    Ducked Romanov :deal

    Shortly to duck Murray :deal

The funniest interview I have heard from him is when he stated that he was above European level now and only had world ambitions. He then signed to fight Michael Gomez :rofl

You don't have to win the European title to prove you are the best in Europe - but what you must do is beat the man widely considered to be the best in Europe (who co-incidentally vacated the title). His name is Mr Romanov. Oh - ducking again :deal

Frank Warren is an absolute joke :deal

If he fought Thaxton and won, that would be sufficient for me.

It would be interesting to see how a fight between those two would pan out - Khan has the speed to run rings around Jon but probably not enough power to put him in trouble.

Thaxton is an awkward *******, switch hitting etc, which Khan will no doubt never have faced either in the ams or pros. Add in the KO power and you have an excellent fight for me.

Khan is easily the best lightweight pro Bolton has produced in in 13 years.

A lot of people seem to be losing a lot of respect for Khan and to be honest i'm not overly suprised.

    He needs to -

A - Beat the best in Britain

B - Beat decent European opposition who are better than we have in Britain.

C - Beat the best in Europe.

    D - Beat gatekeepers.

E - win world title (when and only when he is ready to defend against the best)

    Thats my thoughts anyway.

Come now do you seriously think Thaxton could live with him?

How has he established himself as the best lightweight in Britain? He refuses to fight for the British title. Thaxton and Earl are above him.

Anybody who rates Thaxton or Murray above him is showing ignorance. You might not like him but Khan is on another level to these guys. Face the truth.

So why hasn't he won the British title yet? Why does he fight featherweights?

Why fight for the British Title when he is already commonweath champion? It would be a step backwards. Who are these top fighters Thaxton and Murray have been facing?
