First off hats off to both Khan and Madiana for putting on one hell of a scrap !!

But Khan needs to learn how to pick his shots ..I truly beleive the reason he was forced into a war with Madiana was he could have punched himself out at times as Roy pointed out he was putting his foot on the gas way to early ..His defense needs to be tightened up ..

Not sure how well Roach does with tall boxers but there were too many instances where Khan gave up his reach and height..The good thing for him is he's still young ..I'd like for Khan to try to fight more like a Tommy Hearns as opposed to trying to fight like Manny ...

    Discuss !!

I think the reason Khan opened up early was because Maidana pinged him hard a couple of times in the 1st round which got Khan attention and straight away he knew that he was in for a rough night.

the knockdown and point deduction certainly helped with the official scorecards (which I didn't agree with).

Khan needs to learn to pick his punches like that body shot he threw, his power is under rated and he needs to learn to throw a quality uppercut, he could have done with it last night when he was against the ropes.

He turns 24 next week and is only going to get better and better providing he remains hungry for more. His transformation since moving to LA has been staggering and I've watched all his fights from the amateurs right up to last night.

Khan feels he has to prove himself, I have seen this before...
    (Check Meldrick Taylor/Diego Corrales)

All the skills, But for some reason like to brawl.
Hopefully he has shaken this "Glass jaw" stigma & Roach can get him back to using his advantage (size)

I noticed that as well....On purpose he brawled with Maidana in round 10, and almost got KTFO for it....I'm surprised Roach didn't say anything about that or address getting hit by upper cuts ....

There is no reason for him to brawl ..Why get that chin tested ..Like Jones said its boxing hit and not get hit ..Imo Khan should have never been tocuhed like that considering his height and reach ..Trying to prove his critics wrong would end up costing him ..He has too much talent to engage in brawls with fighters like Madiana ..And I dont want to discredit Madiana but Khan could have pitched a shut out if he chose too ..Instead he got in trouble and had to result to back peddling ..

Also he needs to stop running....I'm all for ring generalship, and at times Khan does a great job at it, but at other times he is literally running in there....

Amir will become a way better boxer by changing his mentality. He already has a polarizing personality and a sexy face, he doesn't need to block punches with his face like emmanuel to sell tickets. Amir wasn't floored after taking some shots from one of the hardest hitters, so I hope he doesn't ever try to "prove his chin" again.

Khan's defense relies a lot on footwork and clinching. He should study some tapes of Bernard Hopkins for this. roach for whatever reason doesn't teach the clinch and inside fighting game very well. Amir will be involved in a lot of clinching if he wants a long career, so he should learn how to fight there.

Study some Wladamir Klitschsko and use the jab just like that.

Don't copy emmanuel's bad habits and technical flaws. Standing there along the ropes to eat uppercut sandwiches isn't cool when you have the worst chin in the sport. Avoid the glove tapping too.

Forget about being exciting, work on becoming slick and boxing tall.

He's still only 24 and there's plenty of room for improvement. However last night Khan showed:

    1. He has heart (not the first time)
    2. He can take a shot better than most gave him credit for
    3. His handspeed is truly awesome

Hopefully you are playing around Leon lol. I do think he was trying to imitate Manny at times especially when he threw his hands up like MP does.

 For females yes but it should do nothing for us guys though. I could care less how a guy looks just as long as he gives us good fights.

I think it was a brilliant performance in some ways.

We already knew that Khan has nearly all the physical attirubtes needed to be P4P elite.

What we didn't know was, did he have the chin and the heart to survive wars with top opponents.

Questions answered. Mission accomplished last night. Point proven. Job done.

    :happy

    Khan was awsome.

I agree but i hope he never sits on the ropes just to be like manny.he's tall and rangy so there's no need for it other than pleasing the crowd.

All coincidences lol. Their good looks didn't win them fights, their skills did.
