I feel the same way, guys like Slice and Lesnar definitely make MMA less credible, especially if they end up winning titles or that. There both very popular, especially Slice, who's a Youtube legend of sorts, there names alone can help PPV buys.
How do you figure, I like Kimbo Slice, I feel he's definitely one of the better punchers I seen in MMA.
I seen his one match against Bo Cantrell, and seen his good technique while he was hitting the heavy bag, unlike most MMA guys who have limmited punching skills and power, because they dont know how or refuse to learn how to put there weight behind there punches.
[YT][/YT] It also means its a bit early to judge him against Ray Mercer and Bo "I got gogoplata'ed by Brad Imes" Cantrell. Do you actually know him though?
bo Cantrell went down at the thought of being hit...and MMA striking is much different because of worry about takedowns, leg kicks, high kicks, knees...etc...boxing is more straight forward with less variables. that's why you don't see much technical style punching in MMA
Fair enough, I guess it's hard to sit down on a punch for fear of your oppenent taking you down if you miss or that, I just like how Slice really digs into his punches, he seems to be a pretty powerful guy.
You might be right, it was tough to see from the view they had on Showtime, it did look like he dug in with a body shot or two as well. Do you see Slice being a major player in the MMA world in your opinion?
Major player in terms of being a top 5 guy, no not really. He will sell alot of tickets though, and will become a good or even very good fighter, I don't doubt that, but he isn't very young and hasn't been doing MMA for a very long time.
