Ok so I recently watched the Kimbo fight vs that guy with the ****ed up ear. Now, I don't know to much about MMA but I know a bit to get around somewhat. So I have a question for all you MMA-niacs.

Was that a bad or good stoppage in your opinion?

Myself personally I thought the fight should of been stopped when that guy was elbowing countless times on Kimbos head while they were on the ground. I mean some of those elbows were rough.

But yea what are your thoughts?

    same here

  4. I agree. The whole fight was a joke though and a fix. Thomson should have never entered the ring with that balloon on the side of his head. It gave Kimbo a last chance to win the fight if he needed to and it did.

The fight probably would've been stopped when Thompson was raining elbows down on Kimbo's head and that to me proved the fix was in. That ref wasn't gonna let EliteXC's money man lose.

The man was so tired at the point that those elbows were like pillows, no force on them, just touching gently kimbos head. No way should the fight get stopped at that point, simply too weak.

The stoppage was legit because the other guy wasnt fighting back and was dead tired.

that isn't really accurate kimbo was very tired and stunned after those elbows, if the ref stopped it when thompson took a couple of shots he should have stopped it before when kimbo was getting pounded on the mat.

I don't think the fight should have been stopped in the 2nd round. Thompson's elbow's were not doing much. For an example of effective elbows on the ground refer to Ninja's fight last night.

I also never saw the tap people speak of in the 2nd. I saw Kimbo give the thumbs up sign while in the guillotine indicating he was ok.

The fight should not have been stopped in the 3rd. Kimbo did not have Thompson in much more trouble than previously. Thompson managed to make it through punches earlier and take Kimbo down. He deserved the chance again there.

I really believe they should have a rematch. It wouldn't settle much in the mma world, but it would give the fighters a chance to give a more satisfying outcome. A chance for Thompson to show he is still better than a newbie. A chance for a newbie to show it at least has heart to go with his limited skill set. That is owed to people who sacrifice themselves in that manner.

Thompson wasnt in any real worse state then him or Kimbo had been in previosly, during the fight. It was stopped way to early and its stinks somewhat.

Bad stoppage, but shouldn't have been stopped in the 2nd also. JT elbows sucked balls and had nothing behind them. The fight shoudlv;e kept going. But that is what you get when on Non Cable TV.

I wouldn't say it stinks. I mean, would you rather have Kimbo lose by a REF stoppage or see him KTFO when he steps up to somone decent? :deal

Actually Im glad he won. I just wanna see someone KO him. :D

It was questionable to stop it just as it was questionable not to stop it in the second round.
