Glad noone took the $10 bet I wanted for the Pavlik/Martinez fight. :!:

1 KO and 1 loss... oh well.

But in any case, well done 'Maravilla'!

Congrats to Martinez, superb performence, class individual, fast becoming a favorite of mine. AND NEW!!!!!

that being said, this loss is gutting, not personally as im not a fan of pav and im happy for martinez, but DAMNIT... i KNEW KNEW KNEW i should have switched my pick, DAMNIT. But i didnt and picked the wrong guy and thats all there is to it.... this is my first 'real' loss of the year, and it hurts. AND i lost the money stockpile.... ****ing pavlik man, wow. my fault though.... I cant say im ashamed that i picked Pavlik, i really thought it would look a bit like Cotto Marg, with one guy outboxing the other silly until he slows down and gets worn down by the bigger, stronger guy.... but Martinez busted Pavlik up in every way and took him to school as well, his jab was EXCELLENT tonight, blasting it right over pavliks as a nice crisp counter.

anyways, this is devistating..... im going to have to win like 15 in a row to make up for this :-(

And Miranda..... :-( What can i say..... the fight ended how i knew it would. That one hurts personally, i knew Miranda put a lot of hopes into this fight and he was trying... he really was, and you could tell he was trying to fight smart and i actually think he was showing some improvement, but that just made it a bit more of a sting.

    :-(

I dont know where Miranda goes from here, i know people dont like that i always call for certain fighters to retire when their still young but really, hes made some money and theres so much to life, we have a tendancy imo as boxing fans to look with a certain focus like theres nothing for them outside of boxing. He should just retire IMO, 168 is simply too deep right now and Miranda has more pride then to just be a punching bag to the elite. Hes a good fighter that fought his way to the top and fell short of being a champion, there is no shame in that, hell its more then most who lace up a glove will ever do. Id like to see him retire and enjoy life. I will continue to support him no matter what however.

anyways.... hope everyone enjoyed the fights, ive had better saturdays lol.

Man Bute continues to impress me. Such a shame he's not part of the super 6

Yes it is a shame, but at least this way there will be some good matchups once the tourny is over with all of them (especially the winner) and him... i kinda like that hes outside as it creates an extra dynamic.

Although his win was impressive, he did what he was supposed to (imo) and TKO Miranda... but just me, i still dont rate him over froch, or if you think dirrell won which most do, then dirrell. Beating Andrade and Miranda (two of my favorite fighters) is nice, but should also be put into its context as to who he was fighting.

Bute will continue to shine fighting and beating the lesser opponents and his hype will continue, meanwhile the S.6 guys are fighting elite opponents (eachother) time in and time out and will struggle throughout and not 'shine' as bright as bute because they dont have that path, but depending on the outcomes of the next matchups, i might not even have bute as number two in the division (just IMO) despite that 'shine' hes getting beaten these guys the way he is (one punch knockouts)

But still, hes showing top quality and the manner in which he beat andrade and miranda is impressive. I cant wait to see how he does against the elite of the super six.

    just imo

I couldn't agree more. Fact is that there's a good chance that Bute will keep winning until the super six is over because besides the guys in the super six, there really isnt any elites left in the SMW division. I would love to see Bute go to LHW for the time being and test his strength against Hopkins, Dawson and Cloud. Those match ups would be amazing.

Oh yeah baby! Oh yeah! It was a make-or-break weekend, either going up or crashing out of the 10, and my Maravilla pick proved crucial. Even the TKO was on the table in the last 3 rounds but Loew kept Kelly in the fight, oh well, my cash was on Maravilla by decision anyway, so no hard feelings for the UD! :D
