I was actually re-watching the Kessler Ward fight...and there was TOO many opportunities that Kessler never followed up on that I think Green could very well capatilize on a timed left hook and it would be lights out.

Ward is incredibly beatable and wouldn't have any problems picking Dirrell to beat him.

If you truly look into Ward's resume and the follow up to the Kessler fight you must look into a few things. Kessler hasn't faced an elite opponent since Calzaghe and had been quite ring rusted. His only tune-up fight prior to that was Perdomo?! :nut On top of his obvious weakness exploited and exposed in the Calzaghe fight...he absolutely SUCKS close quarters. That's the ONLY way Ward fights. He is a ****in' disgusting hybrid of Mayweather and Hopkins. There was seriously no hope for Kessler.

Meanwhile...Ward's best win was his dominant victory over Pantera. He never left a dent in the guy. He outboxed him, but he fought the same ****in' way he did against Kessler. That hit and hold **** with the headbutts. Both Kessler and Miranda had the shorter reach but Green will have a SIGNIFICANT reach advantage on top of a height advantage against him. Ward typically likes to dart inside with the jab to the body but he leaves himself open to a check hook in which is pretty good at doing and with the reach advantage he can very well pull off a one hitter quitter. Keep in mind Ward doesn't have the greatest chin in the world.

Ward also got far too cocky and lost composure in the middle of the fight between him and Kessler. Wrecklessly just lounging in hands down not throwing shots. Commentators caught onto it, but Kessler was completely dumbfounded after being rammed so many times he lost complete focus in that fight. I personally believe Green when he says he understands Ward's style very well. But the truth of the matter is that Green is incredibly undisciplined himself...so it depends on what Green shows up. If the best possible Green or even a 90% Green shows up...he knocks the SOB out!

Good read. I honestly cant say much about Green as I havent seen much of him. But I'm pretty damn sure though that Dirrell has the means to beat Ward. Now that fight I'm looking very much forward to.

Good post :good and I hear what your saying Varg, i see some of the same things which is what has me hesitating on picking him when at first glance he should be the overwelming favorite (which he is), and while i WILL be picking Dirrell against Ward, i simply dont rate Green very high as a fighter, and so im not sure he can capatalise on what needs to be done to do the job, but im very interested in seeing how this fight plays out...

Thought I was the only one having doubts about Ward's chances. For some reason I keep envisioning him getting put to sleep by a well timed left hook while he's attempting collapse in on Green.

Iduno, maybe I'll snap out of it in a couple days and come to my senses.

    :yep
I couldnt think of a name for the lower division, as i wanted to split them up because club fighters was becoming way too big, and i didnt want to use 'Cans' or 'Bums' because i didnt want to come off as disrespectful to fighters (i dont like when they are called that) or people in the league who happen to wind up in the division, so i just went with taxi drivers  Idk... ill might wind up going back and just having one huge ass club fighter division....

Same here Beenie, i keep seeing Green dropping Ward hard and celebrating his huge upset victory, but the thing is... i know that goes against what i should be picking, and since im not brave enough to actually PICK green in this fight, im somewhat on the fence in a fight that is probably clear cut to most and probably should be (as Ward has the experience, the skills, the momentum, and just imo is the better fighter).

oh well, ill wait and see :think

I was beginning to wonder if this was going to be the first ever featured fight where not even ONE person picks the underdog.... :good
