I'm sticking with my picks.

I put a bet on McGregor by KO when the fight was announced but that many people have backed McG the odds have fallen sharply, so much so I could cash out for a 20% profit lol.

So I cashed that out, checked the odds on Mayweather by KO and they've almost evened out. 8/11 they are now. So when my bet changes I had to change my pick as well.

I'd love McG to do it though, what a story that would be.

But then you'd have everyone discrediting it immediately, far too many arguments on this site are race based.

I am surprised more people haven't gone for Kamegai.

Prime for prime this would be a hard fight for Cotto, let alone now.

This will be a slug fest, but here's the chance, Groves pot shots, Bute is a one at a time straight left guy, Degale wings wild shots, but usually one or two at a time, Dirrell tends to potshot as well. Jack outworked those low output guys, barely, Clev outworks low output guys....EASILY.

Problem for Cleverly is that Jack always gets favourable judging and I dont see a KO in this one. . .

Here's some variables that really need to be considered.

Cotto-Kamegai
Yeah, yeah, Cotto has skills for days, he also tends to wilt when put under constant pressure from a come forward aggressive fighter, Kamegai, while limited is very Margaritoesque, and big as hell, this isn't the fresh Cotto that Margarito first faced, or the washed up one that Margarito took on in the rematch, this is a really washed up Cotto that is coming off of a TWO YEAR LAYOFF at 37, I know my body at 37 doesn't feel nearly as good as it did two years ago. Kamegai has looked very impressive in his last two outings, both of which were wins IMO. Sergio had no legs, Delvin is not good at all, Geale was drained to a corpse. When was the last time Cotto stopped a non injured fighter? His power still isn't all that great, and who knows how much he's deteriorated in the last two years. Upset very possible.

Vargas-Rios
Okay fine Rios got stopped by Castellanos, but so did Gamboa, Castellanos IMO was ahead when they stopped the Corrales fight, there's no shame in losing to Robin Hood. Rios had just come off of a long layoff before that match and IIRC there were rumors he wasn't really all that dedicated to the sport, that he was living it up. Well after getting his ass beat by Castellanos, Rios has looked like a straight beast, he beat the p*** out of Velez, he destroyed Roy Tapia, and since moving down from FW to SBW, he seems reinvigorated. Vargas hasn't shown me a whole lot, fine he beat McDonnell, but the average one Gavin, not Jamie. And quite frankly I was disappointed with that performance, Gavin was walking him down late and even seemed to hurt him a few times. Rios will bring constant pressure be in his face and work his body throughout, clearly Vargas' power isn't all that. There could easily be a huge upset in this match, consider it before making any rash decisions.

Mayweather-McGregor
Yeah Conor has never stepped foot in a boxing ring as a pro, but that might works in his favor, its harder to cut off the far larger octagon, and he's a counter puncher, he's a good striker and tends to do his best work on his feet, he doesn't love rolling on the ground molesting guys, that's not his forte. So its not like he will go in completely clueless. He is heavy handed, he is a professional athlete who competes in combat sports. He can take a punch with 4 oz gloves on, 8 oz will be just fine. I doubt Floyd could survive the mauling that Diaz gave Conor in the rematch and get back up and finish strong. So he has decent powers of recovery. I think he's going to go for the volume route like he was doing with Paulie, tap and tap and tap and occasionally look for an opening to get that straight left in. Floyd is 40 and has been out of he ring for two years. He's gonna get old one day, and he didn't look all that great today. Floyd is special, but so is McGregor, crazier things have happened. Like a month ago.

Think these matches out a little more thoroughly.

Speaking of hard calls, one more thing, its not a given Ugas beats Dulorme, if Dulorme can keep his distance, he UD's Ugas easily.

Nice write-up.

I don't give McGregor much chance, Cleverly a little more, but agree that Dulorme and/or Rios have good chances to pull an upset, pretty close to 50/50 in my book.

But given the league standings I'm not likely to take any risks at the moment.

Good analysis of this fights , and i have my one take of them
Vargas vs Rios is definitely the most overlooked fight of the week, i'm rooting for Rios, but i feel that Vargas will be too big for him, and yeah he didn't look great against Mcdonnell in the later rounds, but i think he hurt his ankle or something.
With the Cotto vs Kamegai bout, Kamegai does have a chance against Cotto, but if Cotto still has anything left in the tank, he should beat Kamegai, Kamegai is too weak defensively and his footwork is lacking.
Cleverly vs Jack, Cleverly is a tought dude, however Jack is the more skilled fighter of the two and will probably win by 2 or 3 points, but i'm a picking stoppage for Jack.
And finally the big fight, Mayweather vs Mcgregor, Conor like you said is a skiller striker, good counter puncher and his movement will probably trouble Floyd in the early rounds, but Floyd is a master of adjustments, he will figure him out and methodically break him.
I'm also thinking Dulorme will beat Ugas by a decision.

I was just going to write about it! I think Cunningham is still the better boxer BUT they will use his name and give the win to Tabiti so he can get a boost in his career.
