Vlad did what he had to do to win vs a fast southpaw counter puncher with power, I thought Manny was wrong at that point of the fight to make him take chances

    Sultan put in more work.

Ya gotta give credit to Klit, at least, for fighting a smart fight...

You are in the minority. Wlad should have done a lot more since this was an important fight and a lot of people were watching.

A lot of people watch every fight. They can't all be highlight reels.

As someone who does appreciate boxing... Wlad is boring, there's plenty of more exciting fighters with boxing skill and greater variety, Wlad is one-dimensional, but it works because he's long, tall and athletic, not because he's a incredibly skilled. Where's the head movement? The upper body movement? The ability to work inside? The variety in punching combinations? Variety in tactics?

The only Wlad does is make me appreciate Lennox more, since the guy atleast had a few more punches in the kit, fought with more confidence, wasn't a bad defensive infighter if he needed to be, and also had some head and upper body movement.

Many of the fighters in the lighter divisions (Mijares, Marquez, Calderon, Calzaghe, Mayweather, etc) deliver far more in terms of skill, and even you wouldn't dispute that.

Yes, that was a perfect performance by Klitschko. And although I prefer slugfests, I didn't find the fight boring. It was interesting to watch how Klitschko could completely shut down Ibragimov. I expected Ibragimov to make Klitschko look bad, but that was not the case. Klitschko looked very good. That was a great piece of intelligent tactical boxing. I could become a fan of this.

Why not show your offensive arsenal against a chump? Wow, the man doesn't belong in the ring.

I'm disappointed as well. He could have stopped Ibragimov had he thrown more power punches.

He fought perfectly winning just about every round, but the way in which he did it has done him no favors. If anything it just gives the critics of the heavyweight division more ammunition.

Wlad said before the fight that he wants to do his best and the fans will decide who's the best. That performance didn't convince a lot of fans.

I don't agree that a fighter should use less of his brains and more of his brawns just to excite a crowd. Wlad did what he needed to do and now fight fans will get another chance to see a Klitschko knockout.

I enjoy a good boxing match as much as anyone here. This wasn't a boxing match. When one guy does next to nothing and the other guy walks him down to just jab. A win is a win but you guys are making it sound like Wlad put on a boxing clinic on Sultant. If the Ko came I would have been happy but that is not what disappointed me. It was the lack of trying. 100s of Jabs and a few right hand is not what I call the art of boxing. That is amateur boxing.

    :good :good :good

Excellent comment! DOMINANT but a boring win for Wlad!
He did not take chances that Sultan might hit him with a lucky combination of counter-punches.

    It means he respects Sultan!
