no one wants to see briggs-k, because it would reduce the world title from national (those who struggle with 40somethings, such as pulev did) to subregional level (those who are 40something, jeez). an all new low historical precedent for dilution of the world title down to below regional levels. but a fight with stiverne would pull Wlads level back from subnational towards world level.
stiverne is a bum, like wilder. wlad will beat the **** out of stiverne. watch the ray austin fight. ray austin looked like larry holmes against stiverne. Povetkin, pulev, fury are all levels above stiverne, wilder and jennings
no they aren't, fury is unproven, pulev is proven to beat a 40something but struggle. povetkin is better sure that's all. I just walad to start repairing the damage he has done to his career , or retire.
Arreola only made about $80'000 for his world title fight with Stiverne. It would be illogical for Jennings to not fight Klitschko next. Jennings purse vs Klitschko will likely be close to $2m.
All the WBC title amounts to is a bargaining chip to get a fight with Wlad anyway. If you can bypass that why not?
From the challengers point of view, sure.....but Wlad wants that WBC belt, so it's an important bargaining chip.
Wlad isn't going to fight in February. April 25th will be Jennings. Then Fury probably first week of September. I was hoping he could squeeze a third fight in myself. The unification match but I have feeling that wont happen now.
Excellent news!:good Jennings, Fury, Stiverne/Wilder winner(being optimistic here, not likely all 3 happen). That would make for some 2015. Actually, FOTY kind of stuff.
You know damn well that Wlad has no problem facing any of those guys, it's just a matter of getting them into the ring. With the politics of boxing it's very unlikely that we'd see him in with all 3 in a 12 month time span.
If Wlad fights 3x and wins and the opposition is Jennings, Fury and unification I would consider him lock for FOTY. Only may/pac fight would top that.
