I was watching this fight again. They 1st hook is the one that you hear with a thud and Austin was out on his feet, the other 3 hooks were more of a pushing hook and held Austin up from falling...the 1st one was a hell of a hook...thoughts

Wlad has one shot KO power in the hook. Check out the Shufford oi Koch KO shot sometime.

Wladimir Klitschko has one of the best left hooks in the past decade. In Wladimirs prime he was devastating with it. It is a shame with his new boring style, he doesnt unleash his left hook anymore. I hope we see it against Haye. Wlad's left hook is something special. Its powerful, fast, accurate, and he can triple combination with it. Wlad has a HUGE chance to cement himself a legacy with wins over haye and potvekin, two young prime world class fighters. I hope he does it.

Why Haye and Povetkin though. If assume that Vlad is not going to fight Vitali, surely he cannot start to build his legacy until he actually defeats Russian Chageav. Haye and Povetkin might be good defences but Chageav has the title and is the victory that Vlad needs, imo (i think, most would forgive him for ducking vitali).

True. If Vitali is going for Valuev, Wlad needs to fight Chagaev after Haye.

That is if Haye doesn't spark him out :good

Chagaev has definitely been a top guy for long, but Haye is seen as the bigger threat because he has that explosive power. He doesn't have the granite chin that Chagaev has, but who would expect Wlad to lose a decision to the Uzbekistani fighter?

And Povetkin's body of work in the recent years has been much more impressive than Chagaev's. Since the injury, he didn't look the same and i'm afraid he's on the decline. We'll see may 30 how good he still is, when he fights Valuev, and hopefully finally ends the WBA Valuev-Chagaev-Ruiz roundabout. :dead

By the way, Povetkin is the mandatory (since he beat Chambers in an eliminator) for Wlad's belt until the end of the year, so that's just another reason that fight makes sense.

Screw BOTH "Valubum" & "Cha-GAY-ev" and their horses too...... BORING!!! The "K" bros. do NOT need them guys to be the best out there........ The "K" bros. are the best in the divison.........

David Haye is all hype and talk...... He'll find out what its like to get pounded by a massive dude with skills after Wlad Klit gets a hold of him in Germany...... Haye is gonna KISS some canvas..... Cheerio....

Povetkin is undefeated, and a former gold medal winner at super heavyweight in the world amateur champions and the Olympics. Povetkin has also earned his heavyweight ranking by beating other top rated heavyweights. Haye is un-proven at heavyweight and he has already been exposed at Cruiser weight. In my mind beating Povektin will mean a lot more than beating Haye.

I re-watched some of Hayes fights. His chin, propensity to cut, sometimes shaky stamina, and leaky defense remain. Lad's laser like right hand and thudding jab will easily find their mark. I think Haye going to get whacked early unless his power somehow get to Wlad first.

Back to topic, I think Wlad has one of the hardest left hooks ever. He should use it more, but has changed his style a bit. Wlad is also one of the few heavyweights in history capable of delivering a power hook off the jab.

Wlad has an excellent hook off the jab. Havent seen too many fighters throw it better and faster. Moorer threw the same shot from a southpaw stance, but Wlads is quicker with more power behind it. Wlad is physically a big big man, so speed behind a shot like that is very effective.
