Calzaghe fought a much quicker younger fresher Hopkins years ago!

Remember speed kills and calzaghe hand speed and punch output would've give kovalev fits! Kovalev may have caught up with joe in his later days but I believe prime for prime joe would be too quick and Sergey wouldn't find an answer.

    Calzaghe ud

I see Calzaghe moving a lot, landing crisp lightning fast combos, making it hard for Kovalev to get set..

Eventually though, Joe eats one of those massive right hands and goes down, despite his quick recovery ability, the Krusher lands another bomb, then another putting Calzaghe down for good.

Calzaghe's chin would eventually shatter in this fight. Just too much power from Kovalev.

so its pretty clear that Calzaghe gets destroyed by KO4clev whofeasts on welsh rabbit once again.

Its also clear why joe fought only 40somethings at LHW and for nothing more than a paper title, avoiding anyone more serious. Because they would destroy him easily.

Slappy Joe's career consists of defending his worthless WBO belt in the UK when the golden era of the SMW division ended.

His best wins are against an injured Kessler and a split decision win against a 155 year old senior citizen.

What do you think Kova would do to him? I think you already know the answer.

and only in joes backyard with joes ref.

joe was losing until kesslers injured hand gave in. Joe knew Kessler was at halftank, the only reason he accepted the fight.

during Calzaghes wbo reign, kovalev would probably have ignored him, seeing as he would be after the real champions and not the minor title holder.

Kova would have gone after non-injured Kessler, in Denmark, not cowardly waiting for home advantage and Kessler getting injured.

Since Kessler was the man at SMW for years before he got injured and lost to Joe narrowly in Cardiff.

After that Joe was the man at SMW for a few weeks, during which time he staunchly refused to rematch the now uninjured Kessler in Denmark because he knew he'd likely lose without his corrupt ref and mikkels injury.

But Kessler wouldn't stop asking for his owed rematch! Joe tried desperately to find someone to defend against instead of uninjured kessler, but his mandatory was Carl Froch who he was petrified of. No longer could he defend against serial weaklings, how le longed for the days of Wassen when he could do so.

SO he ran off to another division.

not subnational kovalev, world champ kovalev.

but Mario kovalev in the kebab shop would fit in well with the rest of joes resume.
