Style favors Kovalev, but I'd sure like to see what happens after Lemmy slams a hook to his midsection
People will try to downplay and make it seem like Kovalev loses to a bunch of top 10 MW's. Truth is that everyone would pick a Kovalev dominant early KO in both these matchups.
I love Lemieux, but he is a limited fighter and I don't see what he has against Kovalev. He's not even tested at 168lbs and I don't see him doing well against bigger and taller fighters. Krusher would jab him to death and KO him. I would expect Jacobs to dance around the ring trying to survive a bit like he did with Golovkin. I'm not sure about his punch resistance at 175 lbs. Kovalev was a skilled killer, Ward took a bit of his soul and I'm sure he's not into boxing as much as we was back then, he has problems outside of the ring but he is still one of the best. He's a bit of damaged goods now, past his best, which makes him even more entertaining because you never know what will happen. I never expected him to get knocked out by Alvarez and it happened.
Those are perfect analysis's of those two fights, I think Lemmy would have the best chance if he could nail Kovalev, but, as you say the more probable pattern is a TKO around 8-10. Lemmy has been kinda quite though as of late, makes you wonder if he's still interested in fighting?
