Stevenson just beat the #1 LHW in devastating fasion. What's Kovalev done to make you think he's got anything more than a punchers chance?
I'd love to see Kovalev-Stevenson. I think there's a solid chance it happens in 2014, too. I do think it's fair to say that Kovalev's conditioning is still a question mark, entertaining as he is to watch. Not that it'd come in to play in this one.
Will it be Stevenson's left hook or Kovalev's power right? Not an easy call. Slight edge to the Russian "Krusher", who I believe is the best 175lber. Maybe Hopkins could outbox him, but Hop has a chance against almost everyone.
Of course Stevenson has a punchers chance, but Kovalevs combination of skill, movement and ability to lay down a barrage from all angles make him far more dangerous IMO. I think that Kovalev is the far more complete fighter, though his focus on all-out attack does appear reckless at times, and might be unwise against a big puncher like Stevenson. It's funny that Cleverly and F Wank are comparing Krusher to Lacy, when Stevenson is far closer to Lacy in terms of style and physique (and age for that matter - both were born in '77). I also feel that Stevenson would be a far more winnable fight for Clev.
