I had Kovalev winning 116-115, most rounds were close it was no robbery.

I had it 114-113 Ward. Amazing fight, certainly fight of the year for me.
Andre Ward has earned his place in the Hall of Fame. The rematch will be more convincing for Ward. He's popped that 'Greatness' cherry that he was over-psyched for, before the fight.

I'm surprised by the controversy, so I'll score it again when I get the opportunity. Besides the KD, I don't think Kovalev was that effective in any round and IMO Ward ran away with the fight during the second half through landing just enough clean punches in most rounds.

I'm baffled about it too, i was awake and sober and I had ward ahead going into the 12th, which i was close to scoring even. After the 2nd round i only had 6,7 and 12 for kova, with the 4th even.

    bring on the rematch.

Some of you guys must have been watching another fight, Ward was gifted the fight. No surprise there though, next time Kovalev better not leave it to the judges.

I rewatched the second halh (the most complete I could find on Youtube). Can't get give Kovalev one of those rounds. Perhaps one even, but not more. Don't at all agree with Lederman's scoring. Every round is closely contested, but Ward also land the cleaner punches and shows the better defense (yes, a scoring criteria) all through rds 7-12.

I wanted to check that emotions didn't the better of me last night, and they didn't.

In a rematch I'd favor Ward. He really grew in confidence and looked the fresher after 12 rds.

I picked Ward to win a decision...but had it for Kovalev by a point. I'll take a rematch...good fight to watch.

I have the fight up now, and I barely have the motivation to watch it. I don't think I'd score it any different (114-113 Ward) but I'm interested to assess how close the 'close' rounds were, again.

Before the fight I was entirely correct ,note the word PROVEN in my statement.Unless you think beating Chad Dawson, making him come down to 168 lbs ,a weight he hadn't fought at for years was proof he was the number 2 lhvy in the world?

I thought it was too close to argue about.Lederman's score card was way out!

Final score from the judges is fine but the scorecards were ****.

Kovalev not getting any of the final 3 rounds.

114-113 is ok, final 3 rounds all being Ward is not.

Then I was right in my hunch that Ward had been the best under 175 in all but name, and that this was a fight of considerable importance.

Kovalev was the champion, Ward has got to grab the title off him. Ward didn't do that and he clearly lost the fight full stop imo. The Sky team were way off.
