Whilst everybody will be watching a ridiculous cringe worthy sky sport ppv, at a small hall show in Coventry Laight will be having his 300th pro bout. That is some achievement! The true definition of a brilliant Journeyman and the genuine craft of takes to survive this many fights. I salute him!
Would have made some decent income from that too I’d imagine. A few hundred grand in the bank surely to start off a business, properties etc.
lol it must be hard knowing you could probably win some of these but doesnt because the phone will stop ringing look at that guy that beat crolla and a few other ok names didnt win for long because he wouldnt get much work if he kept upsetting fighters lol
Very sad that, every boxer should be allowed to fight to win, never liked the journeyman story of fighters turning up and losing on purpose. Pathetic and de-values the sport
I do actually know the lad your talking about...yusuf Al Hamidi. Yusuf has fought them all over the years, He was a very decorated am having over 300 fights and could of put a real good campaign together but as you've pointed out, the phone stops ringing. He lives near me and i regulary see him out running.He also works through the week and regularly takes fights at very short notice. Well done to laight, the sport would be nothing without these lads, they are the unsung heroes. 300 pro fights is some going and a testament to one's character. I think Peter Buckley also reached 300 Iirc.
