lacy vs taylor!?

I use to be a Lacy fan, but he hasn't been the same since he lost to Calzaghe. Taylor by UD or late TKO.

 

Just so you know we had a "Best avatar " thread in the lounge and your name came up quite frequently .

 

I can see people using this to compare Calzaghe and Pavlik, but I don't agree with it. Calzaghe and Taylor have vastly different styles. Lacy's shown he can't deal with Calzaghe's, with the vast output and unorthodox punching. But he may fair better against Taylor's straight forward style. It still won't matter though, Lacy just won't be outclassed as bad by Taylor as he was by Calzaghe.

Third party comparison's rarely work in my opinion.

Now, if this was Calzaghe vs Taylor, or Lacy vs Pavlik. Then I think it would be easier to start making comparisons or gauging the gulf between the two in terms of certain aspects of their game.

Either way, this fight won't change anything for me with regards to my view towards Calzaghe or Pavlik. I think we all know by now what Taylor is capable of and what Lacy isn't capable of.

EDIT: Was a bit off topic there. Will just expand on my prediction and say that Taylor will win a fairly comfortable decision, but will not come near to Calzaghe's dismantling of Lacy.
