I really liked the look of this fellow when he won Prizefighter. Entertaining style, and an engaging personality. He looked destined to really kick on to Commonwealth / British level, then his career lost momentum for some reason. (I don't recall too well why: I think his wife was seriously ill, and put his boxing career on hold as a result.) Are there any fights lined up for Larry Ekundayo in the near future? And in your opinion, what sort of level do you think he can reach?
He fought an absolute pudding in his last fight and got taken the distance. Think he lacks the power to get past British title level(if he is eligible for that)
Thanks for the info. :good I think he currently holds the African Boxing Union title at Welterweight (which I believe he won in the fight you mentioned). I'm not sure he is eligible to fight for the British title; if he isn't, it may be a case of him remaining on the African / Commonwealth route.
His manager is trying hard. I've met him, nice bloke. Wants to tap into Nigerian London community but we are too stingy to be relied on. £30/£40 ticket for a fight would need to include food at an absolute minimum and possibly drink as well before you can get mass numbers. We are way too demanding by and large, and I speak from direct and irrefutable experience
