    fair enough but in truth the miranda fight was a good fight for kessler to take anyway.

    Froch, Inkin, Tsypko, Larsen (thoug, he's a bit past it), Mendy are not much less then the "cream of the crop" from the US - plus there is always Mundine...but he already lost...

    but he needs to fight fighters who will give him rep in the US - being a step under but still unknown there won't help him.

    Miranda went up from #6 to #2 from feb. to mar. 2008 ... reason:

    #2 Edison Miranda - up four slots due to his record and caliber.

    Problem is that Miranda did box in either month - he beat Porras and Grant to gain his ranking... so some-one pushed him up the rankings, as it wasn't his fighting.

    As far as I know Palle/HBO did offer Miranda a WBA-titlefight - but as Miranda was already signed to fight Abraham so he turned them down - can't blaim him, pay proberbly better, chances of a win bigger and chances of a last minute conselation smaller :smoke

    It would have bolstered Kesslers profile in the US for sure...

    But Palle seems to think that he needs a title to get the high-profile american names in the ring with Kessler.

    in that we can agree.

    but i dont agree with palle.

    i don't care how it sounds but i could manage kessler better than palle could in the US - including the foothold to get there.

    I like Kessler/Bika for starters followed by Taylor/Kessler. I can easily see Bika beating Manfredo for the IBO title. Kessler beats Bika and looks pretty good doing it. In the mean time Taylor beats Lacy and then wins the WBC title from Froch. That could bring us to a Taylor/Kessler fight for the WBA, WBC, and IBO titles. Seems like a good scenario to me.

    That's the only way Froch could win. Otherwise Taylor is way to fast for him.

    I would pick Kessler over Pavlik or Hopkins.

    People thought I was a fool for claiming that Arthur Abraham could KO Kelly Pavlik. Does anyone now think Abraham could beat Pavlik? The thing is Pavlik likes to stand and trade punches, Abraham has an iron chin and devastating power. That is right up Abraham's alley, trading punches. Like Pavlik though, I think Abraham will have trouble with runners.

    I think it is a safe bet that the next fight for Kessler will be winner of Taylor-Lacy.
