    BRETT FLOURNEY - Has entered the Light-Middleweight prize-fighter in London on the 26th February 2009.

    CHRIS OBRIEN - Will now box on the Blackpool show at the tower on the 27th February 2009.

    GARY SYKES - Boxes Dean Miles at Nottingham on the 5th February which is 4 days before purse bids for his crack at the British Super-Featherweight title with Ricky Burns are opened – this is subject to Dean not being a banana skin and Ricky Burns not being withdrawn.

    14th MARCH AT BOLTON – The Alex Mattvienko v Omar Gumatti rematch will be supported by Carl Dilcs , Stephen Jennings, Jon Kays , Shayne Singleton , Warren Tansey , Josh Warrington , Paul economidies . Tickets available on www.vipbe.co.uk

    19th MARCH AT LEIGH - Frank Maloney brings the Martin Lindsay v Jamie Arthur British Featherweight title fight up North and it will be supported by Gary Davies v Stuey Hall for the English Bantamweight title , undercard includes Olympian David Price plus VIP boxers Tiony Quigley , Rick Goddins , Karl Place, Mark Moran and few more to be announced.

    I will be amazed if Burns does not pull out. sykes should be up near a crack at whoever else comes in though. He would beat Burns but could do with another decent test before fighting at that level.

    no i certainly wouldn't do that,i can only go of what ive seen of him and feel ricky matches sykes in all depts and some more,of coarse thats only my opinion lads.

    I am a huge Sykes fan. Watched most of his fights live and the kid has huge class. He is certainly in need of a few tough fights before going for a belt but if the opportunity comes then I guess he should take it...make or break him though.


    I would have thought Burns had bigger fish to fry at the moment though.
