Interesting thing is that it was comparable to wlad vs Brewster, the time frame of 2 minutes where he goes from tired to completely spend was very similar to wlad in the Brewster fight. Both completely out energy, couldn't even walk

 

Man that "chin" comment from Itauma has aged TERRIBLY omg!!!!! Possibly the worst thing ever said in boxing!!!!!

 

This is a massive lesson for Itauma. He has the quality to become one of the top heavyweights of this generation but he will need to put a lot of work in to get there.

 

He was continually throwing heavy bombs because so far in his short career that’s all he ever known. This is why many feel that he wasn’t ready to fight for a title after 14 fights most of which were easy one or two round KOs because he’s just not had to learn anything else. A warning sign should have been his last fight against Franklin. It was as one sided as you can get in terms of there was only going to be one winner but the fact that he wasn’t hardly hit yet was already showing signs of breathing hard at the beginning of the fifth round showed that he still had a lot to learn before stepping up to world title level especially in pacing when the early KO doesn’t happen.

 

It reminded me of David Haye v Carl Thompson. You have a young gun blowing everyone away who hasn't yet learned how to pace himself, meeting the first experienced guy who can absorb the punishment and has come to win. And he is very suddenly just completely spent and out on his feet. Hopefully like Haye he can come back stronger.

I agree with the comments elsewhere about this being too big a jump though. He should have been fighting more frequently against steadily improving opponents, which would have been in his interest, rather than twice a year against much weaker opposition as a headliner (which was in Queensbury's interest)

 

Looked like he didn't know anything else. Round 8 Hrgo was hardly pushing the action so Moses could have got some recovery in there. Instead he tried to up the pace like Usyk would and ended up throwing the kitchen sink and the plumbing.

He just seems to tee off on every exchange. He'd do well to have Wlad in his camp to teach some pacing as he had similar issues early in his career.

Plenty on here had reserved judgement on Itauma until he had actually shared a ring with a bonafide top 10 big heavyweight and we got that answer last night ! Itauma had looked good so far in his career but there was plenty just waiting to see how good Itauma actually was once he had to face some adversity from an opponent that he could not put away. There is also the fact that the WHOLE World knew that there was only one perceived way for Hrgovic to win and that was to weather the storm and drown Itauma in the later rounds,a fact which clearly escaped Ben Davison and the rest of his Team ! We now know that this was exactly the game plan that Sanchez had taken for this fight and it paid off exactly how he had planned it. The whole injured leg scenario is just BS and damage limitation to an obvious bad loss for Warren and his “ Wonder Boy “ .

 

If true he has glass legs then.

 

By round 6 Itauma looked like someone fighting the pirate from backrooms.

 

Yeah, after going all out in the 8th round... honestly, it feels like a lot of you have never boxed a day in your life.

 

Rewatching this and I'm shocked at how poor Itauma's ring iq is. Absolutely no sense of when to stop or stall. Literally has only one gear.

 

Then Moses should either learn to hit harder or be more resilient.

 

There was no leg injury. He was exhausted and got clipped with some good punches towards the end.
