I personally take Leonard, him being the bigger guy and all, but.........any devil's advocates?

do you mean Ray or Benny Leonard and I assume Chavez is Julio Cesar. I would pick Leonard. either way.

For once I'm picking leonard. Not that there was anything wrong with Chavez as a fighter but this is the wrong fight for him surely.

Are you kidding? Chavez fought once at 147 and got schooled by Whitaker, and you're pitting him against Leonard?

Leonard would have boxed and flurried the ears off Chavez all night long. Chavez doesn't even have a punchers chance. After watching the lesson and beat-up inside which Whitaker gave Chavez at welterweight it scares me to think what a prime Leonard would have done to him.

I don't think Leonard would move much against Chavez, only at times as he seldom stands in there too long against anyone. Duran gets off better than Chavez at long range and at close quarters. Chavez on the otherhand is more measured with his approach. Leonard's fluid quick hands would outscore Chavez at all times.

Anyone seen Calzaghe v Lacy? Similar fight here. A carbon copy.

Leonard by maybe TKO cut stoppage.

What are they going to do next? Put Chavez in with Hearns where he would land in the same spot where Duran had kindly warmed up for him.

Duran beat Leonard so I dont see why Chavez is being given no chance. Chavez was a great fighter.

Thread, that fight and also against Joe Gan's are intriguing. Ray against Chavez though would be like Taylor (1st bout) on steroids. Its just not a good post question.
