You're not going to get it. I dont believe Lesnar tapped or said stop. The ref is right there on top of it. If Lesnar would have said it, the ref would have stopped it. I'm not a Lesnar fan, in fact I dont follow MMA and dont know many of the top fighters in that sport. ......but get real people, Lesnar did'nt wuss out or anything like that. He was outclassed and imo took his beating proper.
Cain said, in the post press conference, that he wasn't aware and didn't hear Lesnar verbally tap. It is at 2:20. At first Cain misunderstands the question and says that he verbally tapped, but when the reporter clarifies the question, Cain says, "No, I didn't hear that/him verbally tap." come on beebs, you know there is a difference when a fighter verbally airs his wish to conceed and waiting for someone else to stop the punishment for him. its about toughness and in combat the fans love a tough guy.
what i have been saying, had his actions been different leading up to the stoppage it would have gone on longer, he could of fought on but he didnt know what to do, he tried his bread and butter but cain was able to get up straight away
I would agree, but I'm also saying that fighters give up just as often by just not working. Just like BJ didn't actually say "I quit" but he still.
oh yeah, i completely agree. not quitting is the ideal state, quitting mentally but not physically is the second one but last of all is actually confirming that another man is your superior prior to the final bell.
That night in Tokyo Buster Douglas could of even given a prime George Foreman fits. Buster Dougles was the Vanilla Ice of Boxing, a one hit wonder....but whatever help you sleep better.... and the fact still remains, even tho Tyson got his ass kicked, Lesnar already lost 2 times already in like 7 fights? Hardly a bad man. Lesnar is as green as they get. Wrestling skills can only take you so far. The Vitali vs. Lesnar comment is just a matter of opinion. You can't prove that.....and neither can I....But i would take a Vitali of today to whip Lesnars ass today in a street fight. Ill take a true, well educated, PHD in sports science owning, professional like Vitali over a hot headed, meathead like Lesnar with limited skills, stamina, and not even as close as accomplished as Vitali. If you think Lesnar could beat Vitali than thats cool, but in a street fight when human instincts kick in, I think Lesnar will be in real trouble vs. a well rounded boxer / kickboxer like Vitali.
No, no and thrice no. That's simply bull****. The Tyson of Buster Douglas fame was a shadow of the crushing machine we all love. Foreman would have had Douglas out of there within 2 rounds max.
Brock was crying and begging the referee to stop the fight. That is properly embarrassing. I don't care how you want to defend it, those are the actions of a 270lb *****. I thought Brock was pretty much the best fighter in the world, and still think he'd beat Fedor and Overeem on styles, so clearly I'm not a gloating hater, but you have to seriously question whether he's cut out for fighting. Turing and running when you get hit is just unbelievable. You have to wonder if hes been hit in training, even. He can still dominate most fighter imo, but when he comes up against someone who can sprawl and scramble and make him work, he'll lose. He doesn't have the heart or the stamina for those fights. The writing was on the wall as regards the Cain fight when the 46 yr old Couture looked like he was well ont he way to tiring him out. Keep Lesnar away from Cain, Carwin, Gonzaga - anyone whos big and powerful and a good grappler - and he'll look like a beast again. I want to see him fight Struve or Kongo in his comeback fight.
I 100% agree with this. Only a ****** could think otherwise, the proof is in the actual fight were the right man wins, who cares if he was losing beforehand ?... turning the fight around just proves that if anything, the ref would have been dead wrong to stop it, dead wrong.
Nah, Fedor should be given the benefit of the doubt of that title at least until his next fight, his run of victories is far & away the greatest in MMA history, 2nd place whoever that may be is just that, 2nd place.
I pointed this out before..my guess he is he hates getting hit...wont box...and feels his wrestling is good enough to beat anyone...almost like a reverse james toney (who felt boxing was enough to beat anyone) I know he has done some submission work of course, and i know that he works mitts..but my guess is he does very little sparring..even when given the chance to do take downs...because he feels his wrestling is good enough (thats what he tells himself in his own mind) and because he cant take getting hit (thats what he truely feels in his heart) so he ends up not doing the work..so then he is even less perpared when he gets into a fight where he does get hit.
I don't know if it's true, but in a recent interview Matt Mitrione (Pat Barry's stablemate) seemed to insinuate that Lesnar didn't let any of his sparring partners hit him in the face (Pat Barry was one of his sparring partners). In the PrimeTime show, you can also see that, whenever they showed sparring footage from Lesnar's camp, Brock would always takedown Barry whenever Pat tried to strike with him. This leads me to believe that some of those rumors might even be true. Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure. Brock makes all his sparring partners sign non-disclosure agreements so that they have to keep their mouths shut.
I kinda see what you're trying to say but....no. You never saw Tyson run away or turtle up as soon as he was hit with a solid shot. He had a great chin and a warrior spirit. It took 10 rounds of a hellacious beating before Tyson finally fell in the Douglas fight. And lets not forget that Tyson managed to knock down Buster prior to the end of the fight and that it was a long count. And finally, even after he got knocked down, Tyson was man enough to scramble desperately trying to get his mouthpiece back in so that he could continue fighting. Brock displayed none of these things. IMO, Brock's biggest obstacle to being a good fighter is his god awful camp. He brings in coaches and sparring partners and pays them to stay in Minnesota and help him train. This forces them to take on an "employer/employee" relationship and makes Brock the boss (making him feel complacent and superior in the process). Instead of doing this, Brock needs to go to some other camp where he won't be calling the shots. That way, he'll actually have a better chance at improving his skills.
damn good knowldge man...honestly i am a boxing fan more...casual mma fan..so i dont follow it as closely as allot of guys. Its just the whole running back wards thing gave me a feeling he never really had shots comeing at him match. I have seen guys do that in sparring...their first week or two of sparring..but it usually gets broken fast...or the guy decides he aint cut out for getting hit..and he quits. if you even watch lesnars face you can actually see fear even from the punches that dont land....i wonder if lesnar will ever actually fight again at this point...
