Never beat a good grappler in MMA? Besides a BJJ world champion, of course. And actually Nelson is quite a stud on the ground, especially in sport no gi. Not world class, but very good.

MMA grappling is different, Mir is an MMA grappler, he has won multiple titles and big fights with grappling. Grappling only competitions are what they are, but they are not the real deal. Some guys from the sport grappling scene do well in MMA, some don't. Don't get me wrong, I love sport grappling, but this is in reference to an MMA fight.

BJJ was made for Vale Tudo, Vale Tudo is the truest test of grappling ability.

You think Overeem could sweep Lesnar while getting hit? I very much doubt it.

    :rofl

Like the pasty white Lawler, Hendo, and Trigg, three of my favorite fighters.

If you can't argue with somebody, call them a racist.

I see Overeem beating the **** out of Lesnar much the same only much more brutal then Carwin did. I see knees elbows kicks and punches ALL being landed at some point in the fight. I doubt very highly the Brock makes it out of the first. Carwin laid the blueprint. Mir and Heath were afraid to stand with Brock and Randy was just WAY too small and old. Carwin got in his face and punched it and the world saw Lesnar flinch and turn and run from the first clean shot he took in MMA. Overeem's strikes will come faster and more accurate and I just don't see Lesnar standing up to it.

Id hardly even call it a blueprint. Fact is Lesnar has no standup. He has heavy hands for a 265lb man.. so what. Means nothing if you cant execute or dont know how to strike. JDS will do the honours when he gets his shot. Hype over. Overeem would smash the snot out of Lesnar. I cant believe posters are willing to bet there house on a 5 - 1 rookie vs a MMA veteran like Overeem who just happens to be one of MMA's BEST strikers. Its not even a debate.

If it was a K1 fight, you might have a point.

No. Those that hate the UFC like to make it out as an argument between those that love the UFC and hate everything else and those that hate the UFC and love everything else when that, on THIS forum, isn't usually the case.

Usually the argument exists between those who hate the ufc and those who don't hate the UFC. All of these "UFC lovers" you talk about get hyped when other promoters put on good cards and good matchups, they don't **** make 100 crybaby threads about Scott Coker or whatever crime lord (i'm KIDDING) is running Dream.

The argument is between those that like mma and those that like mma except for the premiere organization. It's kind of odd, really.

    Perfectly stated.
