Why are you guys jumping all over this guy? Everything he said is basically true. I don't want to ban boxing, but there's no question that this sport has major issues that need to be dealt with.

I agree with Josak. I disagree to banning considering the fact that I box and without it, would probably have no career in the future (I'm 15 and am not good at anything, boxing being the only thing that I'm better than decent at). Though, his case may have been made better, Beatle has a point in saying that the sport has declined in it's glory and prestige. I would recommend reading the book "The Arc of Boxing" by Mike Silvers, who for more knowledgeable boxing fans know, is a very respected man in boxing. Boxing now certainly isn't as great as it was in its golden age, such as the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, etc. I would like to find someone in this forum to tell me in detail how boxing now is greater than it was in its younger days. By which, if you do tell me so with no evidence, then I dare say that I have the audacity to tell you that you are not a true fan of boxing.
Now I came only to defend this person who is entitled to his opinions and also, only to state that maybe we should try regulating boxing in a way that isn't as foolish as say, banning or boycotting it. You have to agree with me when I say that boxing, like all things in life, is corrupted. Maybe more than it used to be, maybe less. The point isn't in the argument of whether or not it is more corrupt or less in this era or the previous ones. The point is what we should continue doing, as fellow boxers, fans, and lovers of boxing, to fix it or make it better for the next generation of children who will grow up watching what we left of boxing. I know I'm only 15 and many of you may brand me as naive or ignorant, but I just wanted to state these words hoping that, maybe, you guys will agree that we should always try to improve the sport and make it better for the future, for ourselves, and our love for the sport =)

Let's ban this idiot. Boxing is one of the most popular sports in the World. You would just be pissing off everybody, may as well ban Soccer and Basketball too.

How about we just ban every single sport in the world. GTFO.
