He beat a very overated Broner, Maidana is a great fighter but not elite, like Floyd, Bradley, Manny, Cotto, Garcia. Would like to see him fight Paulie.
Maidana is a great brawler who is dedicated, improving and deserving of the praise he gets. He struggles against fast movers but always comes to fight. Nobody is calling him the GOAT or anything.
I agree, but some people will think he is the new real deal, he shut up a very overated boxer, Paulie outboxed Broner IMO last time, the elite are better than these two. I'm a Maidana fan since he beat Khan up.
He's a pretty average journeyman and beat a D-Level fighter who also has losses on his resume to Quintero, De Leon and Paulie.
maidana has improved big time since his previous losses, he might not be the goat but he is definitely an exciting fighter, throw him in there with thurman. maidana is the hype train derailer!!!
he honestly hasn't improved that much, he's always fought this way, people just want to discredit Amir Khans victory over him by talking about how Maidana is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better so Khans win over him doesn't really count
Maidana employed the right strategy to beat Broner - an all out war. It was dangerous but it works out well. But skill-wise, Broner still has it although not as glorified as it used to be. So I cannot say that Maidana improved.
can Maidana be any more underrated than he was in the lead up to this fight? It was shocking how many so called fans and experts barely gave him a chance
