lets say Canelo would've chosen to not take the fight with Floyd right now and try to accumulate more top level experience in fights against Lara, maybe Cotto and Martinez then take Floyd.

Do you think he would've been a more dangerous/prepared fighter for Floyd assuming that he would've beaten these guys ( Lara, Cotto and Martinez ) ?

    ??

i'm just thinking Canelo's a little too green for Floyd right now. :think

Too green isn't the problem..he's just not as good as ya'll wish he was.

The fight had to be made when it was made because Canelito is surrounded by as.s-whippings.

The likely hood that he would lose in the near future couldn't be ignored.

Well, it's pretty obvious that the longer Canelo waits, the better his chances against Mayweather are considering Alvarez is 23 and Mayweather is 36.

he obviously feels he is ready. he took down the other big name at 154. before that he turned down a fight with mayweather in his post fight interview in the mosley fight saying he was not ready just yet.

to answer your question. yes he becomes more dangerous, mainly because floyd ages even more and falls further out of prime

This will be a lesson learned for Canelo and only make him a better fighter. He might rock Floyd early on but he is in way over his head....not enough gas or guts:?

The longer Canelito waits his chances of losing to somebody else increases.

IMO is a little early for Canelo. He could've waited a bit more, take his time, have a few more fights with top level fighters and then fight with Floyd when Floyd had his last contractual fight. In this time Canelo would've been even a bigger boxing star/name.

Of course there could've been a possibility to see Floyd avoiding Canelo ( if Canelo would've fought and beat guys like Lara, Cotto and Martinez ) but I doubt about that considering the huge amount of money that would've been into this type of fight.

till now Canelo has 2 good wins in his resume : Mosley and Trout.

i really dont know why people cannot see this.

lara, vanes, james, molina and rosado...i would be suprised if won three out of five.

and the only one of those fighters he might ko is james and thats if kirkland doesnt ko him first.

He proved in the Trout fight that he's ready for a big fight against Mayweather. Before that fight I did openly consider him inexperienced and green, but the Trout fight definitely proved otherwise. This is the perfect time for him to get a major payday. Cotto would've been a pointless fight and Lara is too risky with no reward.

because he was so masterful in wining that fight, he barely won and you can make a case that Trout was the winner, he will get his $$ hand it to him if he fights any contender on a neutral turf with honest judges...

Canelo isn't good enough to fight a few more top level guys without losing or needing a gift.

Shane was not a good win....he was shot to hell.

    Trout beat Canelito...

I scored the fight for Trout. Think it was obvious, and I made this point clear countless times before the fight, that they picked Texas for a reason. Still Alvarez got the nod in a close fight and is most definitely deserving of this fight. Let's be realistic here, it's not like Mayweather has any better options out there. He sure as hell won't fight another easy target immediately after the Guerrero fight. At least Alvarez might have a chance in this one compared to Guerrero, Alexander or Khan for that matter.

He still earned this shot by fighting Trout. His team didn't want him to take that fight yet he insisted and got it over with. A major payday after that is understandable. Not to forget that he has the size and youth advantage so he's not exactly hopeless in this fight.

    Trout won that fight.

    Better jab
Controlled the center of the ring
    Set the pace
    won on the inside
