I sometimes dont think Meldrick gets enough credit here.

He was an amazing fighter to watch in his day. I still say that his combination speed was second to none. Just, absolutely blazing and beautiful to watch.

Its a damm shame what has happened to him but we should at least give the man props for what he was as a fighter. :happy :happy :happy

I think Meldrick gets plenty of recognition anytime that handspeed and combinations come up, and gets recognized a lot due to the never-ending stoppage discussion.

Still, Terry Norris, Meldrick Taylor and Aaron Pryor should certainly get more loving.

    Prime Norris especially.

Who did you mean to write here, out of curiosity?

I agree Norris and Pryor were better fighters. Meldrick was never the same after the JCC fight but I wonder sometimes what could have been.

He was a very good fighter, but the Chavez fight ruined what could have been a great one.He reminded me of Michael Dokes with the speed and aggression with the lack of power.

He is like a smaller, very very very flawed version of Joe Calzaghe, he slapped a bit too. World Class none-the-less though.

he was great in his prime......but that prime was too short due to the beating chavez gave him.

so its a strech calling him a great fighter.

He was a pleasure to watch - truly one of the most talented fighters I've ever seen

I think he did mean Meldrick Taylor. He was reaffirming that Taylor does deserve more respect, grouping him with the other two.
