Yeah, Michael Rosenthal is actually a cool guy, I usually send him my articles and he always gives me feedback. But I don't know what he was thinking with this list..I mean don't a lot of people think Ruddock is up there are the top of Lewis wins?
Yes, I would say Ruddock is up there. That was supposed to be a big test for Lennox and he absolutely destroyed Ruddock that night. Very clinical performance. Holyfield I was a great Lennox performance but it wasn't an official win so you can;t have it on the list. If it was I'd say it'd be top 3. Lennox went over to the States and fought a ATG Don King promoted HW on a Don King card and absolutely outclassed him. Holy won no more than 4 rounds. The Tua win could also have made the list. Not the most entertaining fight but Lennox won a shutout against a dangerous contender.
Agreed. I'd have had the Klitschko bout much higher too given the fact that Lewis was fat, half-trained, ancient and facing a much better fighter than most on that list, Holyfield excepted.
Golota was THE man in the division, so was Grant,So was Briggs to some extent, So was Holyfield and so was Ruddock. Tyson was a strong contender still. Hindsight is a wonderul thing but these were great wins.
agreed. Leavin out the Ruddock fight is daft, and I also think the Grry Mason win should be top 10. Lewis was actually betting outsider in both of those fights and took them both apart. Mason was a very solid heavy...better than someone like Rahman who is up these at number 3 or so atsch looking at his record, he had some career at the top.
Although one could proably say the same about the McCall rematch , McCall had no business being anywhere near a boxing ring that night !
i would agree to an extent with that other than Tyson Tyson was at least 10 years past his best and completey f**kin loopy by that point. at their respective peaks it would have been a tough fight for Tyson , Lewis looked two divisions bigger , but that night was a farce.
