What will the boxing world shape up to after Joe Calzaghe retires ? Who will come to rule the Super Middleweight and Light Heavyweight post Calzaghe? More importantly what will ESB be like after Calzaghe retires ?

    Your thoughts

Wow! Just thought that when Joe retires the top two p4p fighter have retired in less than a year, both of them. Mayweater and Calzaghe retiring, has that ever happend before?

Mikel Kessler will unify 168 and go on to dominate 175 and be Calzaghe's worthy successor.

    Yes.

He will become an ATG in his own right.

Exactly. But maybe even pavlik or AA. Either way, the division will be in safe and powerfully destructive hands.

If by which you mean he'll stay at home making worthless defenses, you may be right. He might also be the 168-175 successor to Brian Neilson if he's not careful.

I think The Slithering One will come of the rocks, out of the Welsh Dragon's shadow, and make himself heard (even more). He'll possibly starch Taylor, or somebody

Only to be cut into pieces by the flashing blade of The Viking, and his skin used as a necklace aboard the longboat

Almost nobody will notice his passing. Before he gave Lacy a boxing lesson who cared about Calzaghe? :huh

I dont know he is a consensus P4P #2 (some have him at #1) which clearly indicates that people have recognized his skill. Plus he has a large following here on ESB, and many a famous argument has been made regarding Joe. ESB may not be the same when he leaves
